Currently bedside, Thanks so much for the kind words and support , ye have no idea how much it means to me .... unfortunately me and my younger brother (home from the UK ATM) received nothing but dogs abuse all evening and night all because we stood up to a bully, he's never wrong of course 🙄, it's better than my 71 year old mother getting it anyway,I should have done it a long time ago, I can't believe once upon a time I actually looked up to this person and idolised them.

    Sweet dreams all 😴💤 x

Horizonal on the sofa at home (of course). Did a big deep clean of the bathroom and kitchen today and then some creative writing.

Hour has gone forward to it's very late and off to bed soon.

Stay safe & well Wherers! :)

Seph...just read back through the thread. Well done in taking that action. You did well by your mother to try to deal with your abusive sibling. Look.after yourself too!

Still on the way home, mad at everything, just a brief tantrum at things being late one after another this morning.

Sun is up its a glorious day, we'll see how people abide by new measures I think.

Good morning and happy Sunday and summertime all.
I missed a few days as I just switched off from everything, but in good form and still upbeat.
Update on our patients, our nephew is virtually OK, he is over the virus, just no taste or smell as his senses aren't back to normal yet.
Our lad is still sick though showing signs of improvement yesterday and again this morning.
Lock down is OK for me, I can still work from home, my Mrs is home too so very jolly times ahead :).

Welcome back Bishop. :) We need all the good news we can get at the moment and you have just brought us some very good news. Glad to hear all is well with you and yours. Enjoy the jolly time with the Mrs. :D

I am post breakfastside soon to be walkside. A cool but lovely day here in Kildare.

Gorgeous day here in the Wescht too! I may also do some walkies - although I have a curnie cake in the oven that may say otherwise....!

Have we had our second coffee of the morning yet, team? Shall we? Or, do we wait for curnie cake? The decisions I have to make these days.. I tell ya!

That's why I moved here, I wanted to be where all the cool kids were.

EDIT: Supermouse I don't drink coffee so how's about you have my cup in exchange for some of that curnie cake? Can't say fairer than that!

I'll take some of that curnie cake supermouse, as Seph says, slides plate across.

I know Redneck is Limerick although not for long I think? :(

Drinking tea and looking up a recipe for birdseed fat balls. Breathing easier today. Going to make them in moon and star shaped chocolate moulds because I'm sad like that :D

    The weather's lovely now.

I noticed the other day his account is closed again, he said he was debating going back to Mexico to help his family over there so I'm hoping that's what happened. I hope he comes back again and I also hope Cleo/Succubus/Alecto is doing ok and rejoins us again soon. You'd miss these people all the same.

    heh

Well in our house my mam used to make curnie cake every week, its was in the shape of a round soda bread but made it white flower and dried fruit (currants =curnie)..it was absolutely delicious, lashings of real butter on top,I'd absolutely love a slice now.

My gran aunt bakes every day, every kind of bread and cake and all absolutely gorgeous, she always says brown cake when talking about brown bread so maybe it's an old fashioned term.

I think I might chance baking something nice this week, unfortunately no point in asking my mam for a recipe as she never measured ingredients when baking bread, just threw stuff in and it always turned out perfectly.

    I'm starving now .

Ahh we called that cake Spotty Dog.

Theres a go to recipe for tea brack here on boards if you have one of those fruit mixes.. If you like a nice brack, its fab. Could be tempted to throw in a dash of something else! I make it for the office and they all love it.

    The weather's lovely now.

It's a banner day here, from my perspective all is serene. Only met one adventurer on the morning walk, not even a Garda escort. Sun streaming in the window, Paco de Lucia providing the soundtrack and the Sunday roast well underway. Life could be worse.

Apologies, my eyes are working now. Curnie cake. I thought the smut had started without me. Better go and do something with the day...

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,633 ✭✭✭✭Widdershins

Yes I hope Redneck and Cleo are ok and come back soon.

I was looking at my unfinished crochet shawl and thought "now I have time to finish it". Then I remembered what the pattern was called.

The Virus Shawl. Google it :)

Home since 08:30, got in the door and was handed a can of Carlsberg and told ''you deserve one'' (I'm on my 4th lol)

My daughter also got me an Ipad, we're setting that up and having a laugh about good times.

We were recently in London for a week and had a brilliant time, and you know how you take away a memory which is only remembered when you hear a certain song. Well Tones and I 'Dance Monkey' is our recent London memory song

She thinks its hilarious because I'm usually hard rock lol

Better hit the hay shortly now that we've moved another day closer to the end of this madness.

(What time do the off-licences open lol)

Had to google Curnie cake, we called it fruit soda. Would love a slice. I made brown soda for the first time this week and turned out well. Think I’ll make some curnie cake today :)
Being lazy and skipping porridge this morning, having tea and toast instead.

    Afternoon all :)

I hope to find you all in great form :) I was wondering what curnie cake was and realised its what we call Fruit Soda here. I prefer plain soda as I'm not a fan of currants.

    Happy Sunday!!!

We called it currnie bread too. My Granny made the best currnie bread in Ireland. My partners mam makes great currnie bread as well (but they don't call it that.) It is such comfort food, with loads of real butter and a mug of tea. Mmmm ..
