    Hi limnam

Apologies for the delay getting back to you!

The best soundbar to go for in that budget would be an Atmos soundbar like the Sennheiser Ambeo at £2199 or the Samsung HWQ90 at £1499. The Samsung comes with wireless rears as well which will give a fantastic sound and a better surround representation than an all in one bar.

A soundbar wouldn't give as good a sound as a fully wired 5.1 system but you would need to go for an amplifier and speaker set. I would recommend something like the Denon AVRX2600 with Monitor Audio Bronze 5 5.1 package. The speaker pack comes with floorstanders for the fronts as well as a great centre and dedicated rear speakers. It's currently £1599 but would be a great surround system:

Let me know what you think.

    Kind regards

    Thanks David,

Would I be able to make use of Atmos on that TV? I thought you needed eArc support?

Just to call out that I very recently purchased that exact setup but with the Denon 4500XR. I haven't had much time to spend with it but the time I've had has shown it to be really superb setup. It sounds great and is really easy to set up.

    Hi limnam,

Apologies for the delay getting back to you.

Atmos from the TV will be fully supported with eARC as it has a higher bandwidth to cope with it. It can sometimes work through HDMI ARC but the lower bit rate can alter the channel count and not give true Dolby Atmos. The main way to guarantee getting Atmos is from a BluRay player directly into the amplifier.

Let me know what you think.

    Kind regards

    David
