Porter knocks on, and then gets himself over the other side of the pitch to make a key tackle. One of the stand outs on the pitch along with Fardy and Conners.

Tailor made for Carbery to come on and win it.

Agree. Thought Toner had a great first half too.

    JJ limping.

Leinster need to turn this domination into points. Byrne has found a few gaps in defence but we're not turning linebreaks into trys or pens.

Silly handling errors are killing any momentum we get here

Cloete made a big run and Toner stopped him with zero gainline advantage with his forearms, couldn't get over it but Cloete maybe not the ball carrier he was 18 months ago.

Scannell has some Canon of a boot, even taking into account the wind

Porter has historically had scrummaging issues. He seems to have put them behind him but I wouldn’t fully trust him yet. Conners has had a few carries but again I wouldn’t say standout. Average game. Which would make me think - why isn’t he at the bottom of rucks why is he in the back line so much?

I think Osborne has handled the conditions a lot better than McCarthy did in the first half.

Agreed though. Porter outstanding. Wycherley is playing well for Munster.

Munster just can't deal with the pressure at the ruck. Desperately needing some more ballast to get those clearouts.

    These knock-ons are very frustrating

You can clearly see the wind impact on the kickers but Byrne still gets around 2 - 3 times the distance in similar circumstances to JJ.

Typifies the difference between the players.

Yeah I blinked at that. Toner also carried hard, and to good effect. Turned some ****e ball around.

Think Leinster will score next and win.

    Leinster
This is a very low intensity game. Played at a very slow pace. You can tell it’s both teams seconds/thirds playing

    Frank Murphy is crap

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Such poor discipline, again, at crucial stages.

Leinster forwards came through too quick there and the maul fell forwards - never a penalty.

I think Ross is having a great game here. He’s taking the game to the gainline, bouncing off tackles, making breaks and spreading the play really well.

Really trying to make a point with the way he's been taking the ball to the line.

Leinster halves finding beaucoup more distance kicking into the wind. Quite a striking difference.

Surprised Porter still going at the rate he is. Some engine for nearly 70 minutes.

Breakdown a major mess. Munster flying in straight off feet last few before the penalty.

Leinster did it in their long set first half too.

Another peanlty advantage that Munster do nothing with. F**king sick of it now at this stage.
    And another

    Zero patience zero ideas

Meters from the line, taking the ball standing still..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,738 ✭✭✭✭Squidgy Black

Connors and Cronin absolutely smashed O'Shea there, completely ended any momentum Munster had

Tight call between him, Doris and Fardy for me.

It was a phenomenal hit. Cronin’s been brilliant since coming on.

    Lowe was blessed there

Those phases were very reminiscent of commachts efforts to score before half time last night in Ravenhill.

Phase after phase in the opposing 22 but just couldn't breakthrough to get the score....

  • Site Banned Posts: 12,341 ✭✭✭✭Faugheen

    Lowe is very, very lucky.

Yeah I think Doris has been at the bottom of many more rucks. Conners our in the line too much for me

Fardy bound on the man not the ball there. Doesn’t matter, Munster wouldn’t score for another 80 mins there. Hopeless bash bash bash stuff.
The one time they looked dangerous was when they went wide but forgot about it then.

O’Shea isn’t good enough all the physicality of a wet paper bag.

Not the time or place to be throwing that kind of pass, Lowe. Lucky.

Lol now he's giving that penalty. Only 78 minutes in.

That's some piss poor play by both sides last 5 minutes.

Very happy with a Leinster win though. Enjoyable contest.

Well Leinster fans can have zero complaints about Murphy tonight.
Wonder did he ever play for them?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,738 ✭✭✭✭Squidgy Black

That is criminal from Munster. They had ample opportunities to get a score this half.

The game wasn’t even over and the ref bitching begins.

Take your beating. Plenty of chances, zero ideas.

I’ll take that win any day of the week. Tough match but a great win.

Leinster did their best to hand Munster a chance to win it, Munster did their best to hand it back. Really odd last 5 minutes.
