No you won’t as the Sony AF8 only supports ARC not eARC.
Also the AF8 does not support Atmos or DTSX.

Thanks any other good sound bars would you recommend? I was going to buy this one but if I can’t get Dolby Atmos don’t see the point in spending 300

Will I get Dolby Vision with this sound bar? Netflix shows Dolby Vision at the top right

Was in curry’s today and they said there is a hdmi in so if I put the sky q box in to that then hdmi out to the tv it’s by passing the tv and going directly into the sound bar so I would have dolby atmos

    Is this wrong??

no that is correct but enable dolby atmos in sky q and give it a go. Then find something broadcasting in dolby atmos.

The only way you get full Dolby Atmos 7.1 , is from high end 4K Blu-Ray Players Sony or Panasonic fed through a hdmi output to an amplifier. Forget sound bars they only give you a higher sound output ,more than the tv speakers can provide without distortion.

The only way you get true dolby atmos is with the right amount of speakers and good gear, this is the optimum.

    https://www.dolby.com/us/en/guide/4.1.4-overhead-speakers-setup-guide.pdf

but with so many constaints one has to try other options and if it sounds good then enjoy.

Just an up date to anyone thinking in this sound bar

I got it today and works really good with sky q for the dolby atmos

Yes I know it’s not real dolby atmos but it’s not bad sound is really good when dolby atmos content is played with sky q

The dolby atmos light lights up on the bar to let you know it’s dolby atmos.

Funny thing is when Netflix is on the tv App it now say dolby atmos on some off there content we’re it did not do this b4.

I don’t know how it’s passing back down but the light turns on the bar also with this and you can here it’s different to the 2.0 so must work.

This is completely incorrect you can also get full Dolby Atmos from media players like the Nvidia Shield it’s not only 4K Blueray players.

I do agree with you that soundbars don’t do Atmos due to no rear or overhead speakers and also not great amplification but if space is a premium it can be a useful option for some.
