Waterproof overtrousers

Have been using an Aldi/Lidl pair for the last few months without complaint but they have started to leak on the arse so I need a new pair.

Any recommendations?

My cycle is short <15 mins so I normally wear overtrousers over my work clothes when it is raining.

Unless it's an absolute deluge, I don't bother, but I get changed at work so different needs.

Trespass do some pretty good waterproof trousers. Got a pair a few years ago for festivals, hiking and for those awful days. Still good as they only get used every so often.

You;d need some sort of ties/strap around the ankle though, as they can otherwise flap and get caught in the chain

Altura I've always found reliable. They usually have a zip from the calf to the ankle and velcro straps so that they go on over shoes and boots but then don't flap around.

Used the Altura night-vision for years and really good HOWEVER their new jacket though marketed as breathable is not at all breathable and you SWEAT SWEAT like you cannot imagine. As such I didn't get new trousers and would love to know a good alternative trousers and jacket if anyone could suggest.

Yeah, I've never used their jackets. They seemed to dominate the medium-priced rain trouser market at the time I was buying. I had a very light pair of rain trousers from Sprayway as well, which, from what I recall, was pretty good too.

I've less than a 3km commute and wear these overpants on wet days. They do not let water in.

I wanted to go for a cycling specific model as I didn't' want the cuffs to flap / catch in the chain and fine the ass wears out easily on other trousers.
