Narrow Roads

    Hi Folks,
My dad lives on a narrow road that is used as a short cut by a lot of people travelling well above the 50/60kph limits. There's a narrow bend on the road at his house (too narrow for white lines) and the fencing of all 4 houses there on this bend have been hit by cars/lorries over the years. We've tried to get KCC to put up signs or get road markings put in place, but to no avail. Local councillors are trying to help but they need examples of similar measures as precedent but there aren't many in Kildare. Speed bumps were suggested but they're not practical for 60kph zones. Has anyone got some successful examples in their neighbourhood ? Perrystown Cross on the Hollywood to Ballymore Rd is one.
    Cheers,
    B

The twisty road from Celbridge to Barberstown Cross, about a 2 mile stretch, used to have lots of cars ditching until the council put in bend warning signs and the anti skid surfaces ( less chance of skidding ) at the bends. Probably about 10 years since they did it but it did make a definite difference for the better. The main twisty section is 60Km/h.
