Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi, My folks house has scalding water coming from the taps.
I checked the hotpress and there is no stat on the cylinder.
They don't have motorized valves either just the red spindle valve at the base of the cyclinder. I was just wondering is this a dangerous situation ie water boiling in the cylinder and what would be the remedy? Thanks :)

Is it a solid fuel stove/boiler or gas/oil fired?. If solid fuel, then, as a temporary measure run off some hot water then get the circ pump checked out and see if running and if rads are hot.

Make sure that the electric immersion heater isn't faulty as in always on.
What is the boiler thermostat set at? It could be faulty. Take note of what it's set to and then turn it fully up and down a few times before returning it to where it was.
