    Hi,
I've owned a van for 5+ years and was thinking of converting it to a campervan.
Does the VRT rate still apply for changing from commercial to a private camper or is there an exemption if you have owned the van for a number of years?
    Thanks.

No exemption, you're reclassifying the vehicle

You’ll get the original VRT paid (€200) deducted from the bill. Yippee.
