Full coverange of insulation (Attic/Loft)

Hi,

Have you ever insulated your own loft. What material would you use and what glue would you use? There are joists of wooden beams.

I would also like to install floors to jump in however I believe plasterboard wouldn't be the most convenient.

Glue? To hold insulation

Plasterboard? For flooring an attic?

Can you elaborate on what you’d like to do?

Sorry... let me clarify

The attic has not full coverage of insulation. The current insulation is 100mm but I would like to bring it up to 300mm and install a storage area (floors) letting me jump in instead of being careful of leaving the heavy luggage on top of the wooden structural beams.

Would it be possible to put 6" x 2" beams ran perpendicular to the existing joists to allow for extra insulation. Then floor on top. Would the extra weigh of the new joists be of any issue to the existing trusses?
I'm not sure how confident I am in those stilts and would probably find the 6" x 2" handier to work with.

I'll be doing it myself, how confident are you at doing DIY?
There's pictures on line of the set up. Avoiding pipes and wires is something to be aware of.
