Why would he move him deep after his performances when playing in an advanced role? I don't understand Pep.

I know we talk about VAR in a lot of ways, but I do think that VAR is one reason why defenders aren't keeping clean sheets this season, last year you could hang out of a player and more than likely a penalty wouldn't be given, this year, the same action would be given as a penalty so it's not really done, and defenders can't actually defender any more and hence we get less clean sheets. A team stringing 2 clean sheets in a row seems to be rarity.

Even Pep doesn't understand Pep. He clearly just makes it up as he goes along.
He gets away with it because he manages billion euro teams that can compensate for his zany notions but pop him into a Wolves or Leicester role and he won't get much joy out of his pointless tinkering.
