Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Most of the players would agree to play out 9 games.
If not then it would be awful pr for a player who not agree.

Going to court after a pandemic over a contract having to play 9 games you would look an idiot

Most would not be as petty as some people.

Would be a very bad look for a player alright. I'm not sure I would want to sign a player for my club (if I was a PL club owner) if he refused to play games for his old club because they took place in June instead of May (or whatever dates). Especially after he didn't play any games for a month during the season due to the break.

As I've started many times, contacts work both ways. Some will be happy to play extra gamees if it comes to that, but many will say best of luck.

Look at the amount of redundancies and lay offs already. Employers no honoring contracts, so why should employees if v they can be laid if that easily.

If a player is out of contract on June 30th and wants to leave he can.

But the transfer windows of every country will be uncertain until it's decided how leagues around Europe decide to finish the current season.

They might get to sign for a new club for example on July 01st but not represent the club until the start of a new season if the decision is to play out the remainder of the current season for example in August.

Goes back to the debate of should have all games been stopped that week or played behind closed doors.

Knowing what had happened in Italy how did they leave the game go ahead in Spain.

Equally knowing what was happening in Italy and starting in Spain should the Liverpool vs Atletico game have been played considering Arsenal vs Man City was called off the same night because of the coronavirus.

It shouldn't have gone ahead. Certainly not with fans. Hindsight is a great thing

Best Premier League winning team: 3-4-3 formation

    GK: Alex Manninger

DF: Victor Moses - Kolo Toure - Glen Johnson

MF: Joe Cole - Paul Ince - James Milner - Raheem Sterling

AT: Daniel Sturridge - Michael Owen - Nicholas Anelka

See what I did there!! :pac::pac:

Clearly says only premier league winner players

And you immediately ruled out a premier league winner who had a position named after him! Look just name your Utd 11 and save us all the bother!

Don't get me wrong Scholes was a great player but Gerrard had literally everything , on his day he was a world wind , he would won countless games on his own ,

I really do think without question the greatest midfielder in Premier league history ,[/quote]

Really? He’s up there Allright but if we’re talking central midfielders I’d have Lampard, Keane and Scholes ahead of him.

It’s a difficult one because there’s 2 types of central players. In my opinion Gerard was a mix of both. Defensive/creative.

Keane was better defensive but Gerard a better creator of chances..

It's subjective though, you could argue Cech conceded less goals or Lehman went unbeaten. If you really want to be pedantic how many world cup winners played in goals in the top flight! Not pissing on Schmeichel (I'd probably agree with you) just that he a a few bad seasons in the PL (first season with Utd in the old FD and later with Villa and City) Edit. Barthez but I doubt many Utd fans would have him up there.

are we not talking about the greatest ever though?

there has been plenty of world cup winning keepers who wouldnt be near the top 10 keepers of all time.

also, just because Lehmann went unbeaten, he wouldnt even be in the top 5 maybe 10 keepers to play in the league

Makelele and KDB would be two I'd pick straight away and one of Viera or Keane would probably give you the best balance in a midfield three.

I didn't rule out anyone.. Just really might want to go get an eye test

Everyone is free to pick whomever they like

I said personally I don't think think people will select makelele over the likes of the players I called out. But I wait to be proven wrong

Depends what kind a team your picking ,
If your picking a functional team with 3 midfielders hers in every day ,If your picking just the 3 best on there own merit he isn't in it,

One I never get is how some people say Scholes was better player than Gerrard If you look at there individual awards when they played it wasn't even close ,

Don't get me wrong Scholes was a great player but Gerrard had literally everything , on his day he was a world wind , he would won countless games on his own ,

I really do think without question the greatest midfielder in Premier league history ,

what could Gerrard do that Scholes couldnt? i would argue Scholes could do everything Gerrard could do and more.

Scholes could control the tempo of a football game, Gerrard could not

Yeah I hear you but when picking an all time 11 I usually forget about balance and just try pick who I think was the best.

    Schmeichel
    TAA
    Ferdinand
    Van Dyk
    Cole

    Keane
    Lampard
    Scholes

    Henry
    Shearer

If you're following Brintys rule I'd pick the following

Cech or Schmeichel (toss up for me)

    Neville
    Stam
    Terry
    Cole

    Makelele
    Viera or Keane
    KDB

    Ronaldo
    Augero
    Henry

    That'd be a 433.

If you're going 442 I'd bring in Shearer or Drogba beside Augero and change the midfield around.

No, I see what you’re doing... picking Liverpool players who won a league elsewhere.

But you picked Adam Johnson who never played for Liverpool and is in jail for child grooming and sexual activity with a minor.

So I was hoping you mistakenly wrote Adam instead of Glen, who won the league with Chelsea.

You literally had the right surname and position and all, but just Adam instead of Glen.

<edit> ah yes sorry didn’t spot Glen out on the left!

Struggled for defenders so I had to go with a back 3 and use Glen on the left

Sounds like a a complete back track

    Named Adam Johnson

Who never played for Liverpool, pretty sure her never won a premier league medal, and was jailed for child grooming and sexual activity with a minor

That's up there with Harry suggesting all the premier league players should be infected with the Corona virus and let the strong survive....

And some one then defended him saying oh I don't think he meant it, when it was mentioned it was Harry who had made the original post.
