Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Every club has them to be fair, no exceptions. He could be lot worse, general banter is perfectly fine.

Both Chelsea and United starting 11s tonight are awful for teams of such normal high standards

2 decent chances for Chelsea not taken. One because of a bad pass and the other a poor finish.

    Poor game overall so far.

You see what you want to see

Hard to see anything other than a kick in the bollocks there to be honest.

You see what you want to see

And you ignore what you want to ignore. Even the United thread has fans saying he's lucky. He kicked out, no need for it.

One of the worst non red card calls that I’ve ever seen and they have the technology to look at it from multiple angles and yet they still get it wrong!

United benefitting from an Anthony Taylor masterclass.

Similar to the Son red I think.

    Have we done VARchester yet?

See it's a combination of VAR and Manchester. Very clever,.

    ManchestVAR?

Can VAR not overturn a simulation yellow if its outside the box?

Thought I heard Gary Nevillle say that but I could be wrong.

Chelsea getting a lot of joy down their left. Final ball and finishing has been poor though.

    Class header.

    Great cross and header.
Only real bit of quality so far.

If Maguire is not english he is sent off.

    Incredible decision.

Some header from Martial reminded me of Dwight Yorke

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 23,216 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kiith

    Cracking cross and header.

Surely that is a red for Maguire though. Son's was a bit more obvious, but that looks like an intentional kick to the sack. Fair enough if the ref missed it, but it looks pretty clear on the VAR.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,843 ✭✭✭✭yourdeadwright

Same ref that sent Son off,
Boggles the mind how inconsistent they are

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,306 ✭✭✭✭Father Hernandez

Strange that it went to VAR and they never let the ref take a look at it too.

Wonder where the line is with Maguire's kick out and with Son's?

    Both very similar.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,546 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

VAR is good in princiiple but applied inconsistently.

Maguire should be off there, simple as that.

    Another mad call there.

  • Nice to finally get some of that LiVARpool action

    Varchester Utd

Gary Neville’s “there” has me cringing.

By the time he’s finished saying the word 10 things have happened.

Chelsea getting ****ed over here. Fred pushed first there.

Completely ignored the Fred push. They are making it up as they go along.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,395 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Goal ruled out for a push even though Fred actually pushed the Chelsea player first.

    I read Varchester earlier

Gonna cry about that are ya? ;)

Same fella would be crying then if roles were reversed. Solid bit of refereeing there, Fred pushes The Chelsea player into Williams and he gives a free out.

    Wow VAR is rigged tonight

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,349 ✭✭✭✭super_furry

Haha, remind me where the referee is from again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,090 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

What's the official line on that handball rule. I know that if the ball strikes the hand, for scorer or assister, then it gets ruled out. But I wonder are the referees meant to blow the whistle if they see any attacking handball and just stop the game or are they meant to let VAR overrule the accidental handball, only if a goal is scored cos the ball would be dead anyways?

The referee blew there for an accidental handball but how was he to know that the next attack was to result in a goal as he blew before the attack finished. The rule is meant to rule out accidental handball by goalscorers or assisters, not all accidental handballs I thought?

I can't remember a situation like this one before. There could have been one, I just don't remember one right now. Usually it is goals being ruled out after they have been scored.

Ref and VAR ref are both from the same place.
