Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Same fella would be crying then if roles were reversed. Solid bit of refereeing there, Fred pushes The Chelsea player into Williams and he gives a free out.

    Straight from the training pitch

Azpil couldn't get near him to push him for that header.

Can VAR not overturn a simulation yellow if its outside the box?

Thought I heard Gary Nevillle say that but I could be wrong.

VAR can not award or over turn decisions outside the box except if it is a red card

Not a great sign for Lampard or Chelsea that they seem to be getting progressively worse as the season goes on.

Granted been jipped by the officials tonight a bit.

    Offside lads. Well done tech.

How's that offside? He looked two feet on in the wide angle. VAR shows a close up of him with his foot 12 inches ahead of the defender but not Mounts cross...

    OliviVAR Giroud

Obviously as a culmination of all this game's events that's a nightmare for Chelsea but tbh I think that offside call is fine.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,432 ✭✭✭sideswipe

Gary Neville- 'It was as clear as day, he was offside'. :pac:

Good job Liverpool are so outstandingly brilliant this season or VAR would be deciding the title.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,395 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Gary Neville increasingly talks absolute bollocks these days.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,512 ✭✭✭✭MEGA BRO WOLF 5000

I'm not having that. VAR showed girouds planted foot as offside, watch as mount kicks the ball he's 100% on. Slow speed to 25%

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,976 ✭✭✭doc_17

Only call VAR got wrong was not sending Maguire off. But this is a great result for those of us who want to OGS left in charge.

  • Mile offside

    Love the salt though

Jesus everything is going against Chelsea tonight.

The booking on Willian for diving looked a foul on replay
Maguire should have seen a red card.
Fred pushed Azpi who in turn pushed Williams and goal ruled out.
I think that handball should have played on but stand to be corrected there.
    Maguire scoring the 2nd goal.
The momentum loss after VAR correctly ruled out Giroud's goal.

Not their night at all, they have every right to be peeved off.

    Should he?

Perhaps he shouldn't. That would be better

To be fair Antony Taylor is a bad ref and really should not be in charge of any Man Utd or Man City games

Tyler is painful to listen to. Absolute painful. Pushing his own agenda of VAR.

Goal was clearly offside on the front angle. If there was no VAR there’d be a 30 minute debate in the studio after on the need for technology..

Missed all of the second half but just after seeing the disallowed Chelsea goal. I don't know how the VAR official came up with a free out for that one :pac:

Chelsea are not a great side but everything has gone against them tonight. They’ll probably be no hot water for their showers now.

Thank god I’m watching outside the UK. Sky and Tyler are archaic and painful to watch

They’re all bad refs in the Premier League imo, I used to think Michael Oliver was a good one, but he’s as bad as the rest now. Mike Riley as head of the PGMOL says it all.

In fairness it was only the one angle you could clearly see Fred pushing. All the others looked like it was harmless.

Here's another angle of the Maguire kick. That's a red all day long and just as bad as Sons.

But look at the Chelsea bench. If that happens in front of Jose, Pep or Klopp they'd be going mad. Lampard barely moves and the bench do very little.

The home teams bench should have no say in a refereeing decision

No but if one of their players are kicked in front of them you'd expect a strong reaction.

    Manchester Ref, Manchester VAR Ref.

Incredible that is allowed to happen by the PL. Just leaves it open for criticism after the Maguire incident.
