Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'd say Wesley is still a fair few months off being fit. He looks quite laboured in those training videos that are posted. He wasn't a roaring success either last season.

Minimum I'd like another striker or winger and defintely a new left back but that's just a personal preference.

Sarr at Watford would be ideal but expensive.

Barkely hopefully coming back soon will allow Jack move left again also.

I think Jack in the center allows the other wingers to play more. When he's on the left, most of our attacks drift that way. When he was more central he could go left and right and interplay with both wingers.

But I still think Barkley in the center and jack left is or strongest attack at the moment

Also watched the highlights and the finish from Traore was fantastic. The way he shaped it looked like he wasn't even ready to shoot

Folks, I’ve ended up with two of last year’s away jersey...If anyone wants it drop me a pm. Size medium but tight enough fitting. Happy to let it go for free or to anyone who’ll make a small donation to charity.

I’m going to give preference to anyone who is able to meet me in Dublin City centre so there’s no faffing about with postage.

Despite Villa actually being a decent team these days, I still wasn't able to get anyone to take this jersey off me for free!

But I reached out to Ghana Lions on twitter (worth a follow) and he was only delighted so I posted it over to him and it's found a good home!

Prefer Jack. In the middle with license to roam. More affective through the centre for me

In between a the ads, photos, links and fluff (I hate the format the Birmingham Mail uses) - it boils down to Smith saying that Wesley has finished treatment, is working on fitness and he's hopeful he'll be good in January, if not he will look at bringing in cover

Game today is on BBC One at 3. Nice.

    Konsa back today?

    Konsa back today?

    I think he's available alright.

I'd keep Hause in, he didn't do a thing wrong last 2 games, I know he wasn't tested, but aerially he might be a better option than Konsa in handling Benteke.

Same 11 as was against West Brom.

Davis and Hourihane the only options off bench attacking wise.

Trez and Barkley not on bench.

I think konsa is our best centre half.

    Traore!!

Very open game so far, Martinez needed a great save after a few seconds

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,444 ✭✭✭basillarkin

Not a peep out of tge traroe knockers lately

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,882 ✭✭✭sc86

    Lively start from both teams.

Traore doing well today again. Fair play.

Jack really should have scored. El Ghazi too possibly.

Very open game. I think we will need a another goal or two yet.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,444 ✭✭✭basillarkin

Grealish should have scored there. Great ball by traroe

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,444 ✭✭✭basillarkin

    Good man ref

That’s a let off. Would have been a bit soft but there was contact I think.

Who was the lad we had a few years ago who came with a reputation for scoring screamers so everytime he got the ball he'd just blast it into the Holte End?

    Tonev maybe?

Anyway, El Ghazi is starting to look like him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 838 ✭✭✭rebelomar

Gotta take those chances. Poor finishing from El Ghazi and Jack again. Good play Watkins....has the legs on Dann all day.

  • Moderators, Education Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 10,797 Mod ✭✭✭✭artanevilla

The game is there to he killed off, but if it's not then could easily be just a point here.

    Mings is an absolute idiot

  • Moderators, Education Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 10,797 Mod ✭✭✭✭artanevilla

What is Mings at. Brain dead.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,791 ✭✭✭✭JPA

    Mings red card. ****.

Mings is playing poorly as. Deserved red

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,882 ✭✭✭sc86

    Hes a clown

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,791 ✭✭✭✭JPA

He didn't deserve the first yellow I think, Zaha overreacted.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,791 ✭✭✭✭JPA

Mings chewing gum and out for an afternoon stroll. Plonker. Now we're hanging on against a team destroyed by Pool.

What does what Liverpool did to Palace have anything to do with today?

Maybe, 1st yellow was a bit soft as Zaha was the one swinging. But if you're on a yellow, its still stupid to do what he did. Simple, soft sending off

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,444 ✭✭✭basillarkin

Did Smith really take traroe off? What a ****ing clown

  • Moderators, Education Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 10,797 Mod ✭✭✭✭artanevilla

Both yellows were stupid and avoidable. Shame for Traore.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 838 ✭✭✭rebelomar

Between our missed chances and the stupidity of Mings, we've handed them the initiative now.

Not sure about taking off Traore today

    Clown? Relax.
It was him or El Ghazi, Smith made a call.

Mings has been Mingsing it since the start of the game. Headless chicken. So frustrating because we should have been out of sight by the time the red came along.

I think El Ghazi is a bit stronger defensively. Traore was playing better for sure, but it will be a different game now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,882 ✭✭✭sc86

El ghazi much better defender so no surprise , a disaster but not smiths doing

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,058 ✭✭✭Brian201888

Traore never gets 90 so I assume that played a part in the call.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,444 ✭✭✭basillarkin

Still can hold on for all 3 here imo. Soak up pressure and hit on counter. That's why I think he should have been left on. He gets negative press here for his work on other side of the ball but he pulls his weight imo. Anyway hope elgazi or Jack can find their shooting boots and get one in 2nd half

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,246 ✭✭✭Esse85

Bet it will be Zaha who comes back to haunt us.

We were lucky not to concede the peno, unlucky with Mings, Zaha knew exactly what he was doing. Should Targett of been in that position not Mings?

Jack not in the game enough for me, too central.

El Ghazi when he has time to shoot is awful, his technique is terrible for a person who's shooting every day in training.

Cash was been a bit rash on Eze, he dives in too much when standing up and holding him up is the better decision.

Did he not get 90 mins against West Brom?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 838 ✭✭✭rebelomar

El Ghazi must have less that a 50% pass completion rate today

    Edit: 54.5%

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,791 ✭✭✭✭JPA

    2 nil, massive goal.

This would be huge 3 points
