It's amazing how a player has that in the locker but can't pass a ball five yards!

    Unreal finish.

Will be a tough last 5 mins here.

    Smith's getting adventurous, he's made a sub (88th minute)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,136 ✭✭✭Patser

    And here's Keinan!!

    92nd minute

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,247 ✭✭✭Esse85

    Lots of positives from that.
Mings was brilliant. Watkins created lots of chances.

Barkley was good and attacking wise we looked much better.

    Targett and Cash really good.

    Big win.

    Nice win.

Deserved on 1st half, lucky on 2nd

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,557 ✭✭✭LeBash

We were unlucky not to be out of sight after that first half but still a deserved win.

Barkley had a good first half, second half he had a few moments here and there.

Watkins as top notch all night. Must have 2 hearts with all the running he does.

Another appearance without a goal or even a shot on target for him. ;)

Hard to believe we had 72% possession at times in the second half when we didn’t really threaten them. We did play it around well at times but in the second half didn’t offer much in the final third.

Barkley covered most distance of any side tonight.
Also had the most touches of the ball.

    Delighted with the result.
If I was an Everton fan I'd be fairly pissed off with their performance.

    Shocking.

Martinez was as bad, not even an attempt at goal in 90 minutes

Defensively they were really poor, very casual.
Thought Coleman might trouble us more going forward.
Didn't see much from Gomes or Richarlison.
    Iwobi is just really average.

El Ghazi on 8 goals in the PL along with Maddison, Mane, Cavani and Jesus.

Great game , and great win

El gazhi has a good eye for goal to be fair to him.
Barkley was better last night than he has been since return from injury , was that only because it was everton.

If Smith thinks he can replicate that return next season, he won't be going anywhere. He frustrates the life out of me but his finishing has won several games this season for us, can't argue with that.

I wonder where we would be in the league now if we didn't have him. He was on fire Dec and around the new year period.

He can score goals but doesn’t do enough in other attacking situitations. AFAIK he doesn’t have any assists this season.

Yesterday his overall play was ok. He tracked back and passed the ball around well (had a few good link ups with targett) but I don’t really remember him beating his man / getting in a cross

Shocking for his poor family to have to endure. Hopefully justice is served.

No Grealish again but he will be back training with the first team from tomorrow.

I'll believe any positive news when he is named on the team sheet after all the false dawns over the past few months.

Barkley starts and great to see lots of the academy players on the bench

Hopefully we can see Chukwuemeka when we go 4 up.

Not in anyway hopeful today. We either get a spanking or the ref makes some absolute shocking decisions.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,797 ✭✭✭✭JPA

    What a hit!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,557 ✭✭✭LeBash

Traore, my cash out and my first goal scorer thank you!!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,137 ✭✭✭✭listermint

Lovely finish there. Keeper couldn't do much there how far that went into top corner.

    Idiotic from Luiz there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,136 ✭✭✭Patser

I knew!! I just knew we'd give away another soft, stupid penalty

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,247 ✭✭✭Esse85

Absolutely moronic decision from Luiz to do that, bloody fool, he's been dreadful all season. Clown.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,136 ✭✭✭Patser

    Heads gone already

From lead to losing in 5 minutes

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,247 ✭✭✭Esse85

    Terrible from Mings.

Traore and Barkely are strolling around second half making little effort and not tracking back.

I'd sub the two of them and give the younger lads a run.

  • Moderators, Education Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 10,842 Mod ✭✭✭✭artanevilla

It's Manchester United lads, we don't beat them.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,849 ✭✭✭Panrich

We really are fated to never beat these ****ers.

It's the fact we always seem to take the lead, but then softly roll over in 2nd half that gets to you

Anyway mayne time to give Wesley a run, or Davis

    Or both :D

Lets watch the positioning of Wesley and see where he takes up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,136 ✭✭✭Patser

Poor from Konsa - 3-1 down now.

And annoyingly we've been creating chances at other end but weakly hitting them.

And now Watkins off for diving!!! He'd never book a Utd player for that. That's a joke. Kane would get a peno, Utd too but Watkins get sent

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,137 ✭✭✭✭listermint

The yellow was hard there frankly. Very hard.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,247 ✭✭✭Esse85

No harm seeing Watkins miss the Everton game, poor guy has played every minute this season and we've nothing to play for anyway so he deserves a rest. We'd three strikers on the bench today.

Davis will start against Everton, he won't be able to stretch their defence like Watkins did and therefore they'll be absolutely all over us as we'll have no outlet.

Usual culprits at fault and missing today, Mings made to look like the 19 year old.

    Targett Villa's best player.

Very, very poor 2nd half - no conviction in team at all. No effort. Summed up best I think by the missed chances we had at 2-1 down, when 2 or 3 shots were just scuffed into Utd keepers arms, when there was time to finish properly.

Defence stood off too much, midfield were absent, Luiz was just absolutely braindead (although funny to see how quickly Pogba went down from a nudge, while Watkins later gets a red from a high speed trip) - just terrible.

Barkley, El Ghazi all missing again. McGinn pretty much alone in midfeild and overwhelmed.

    All poor

Over to the FA player to see if the ladies team can stay up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,247 ✭✭✭Esse85

I think Jack will be on the bench tomorrow evening.

2nd leg of the Cazoo derby tonight and at 206 games the most played fixture in English football.

I imagine Davies will start in Ollie’s absence as I doubt Wesley’s had enough minutes to go straight in.
