Shambles to even pretend that wasn't a penalty about as stonewall as they come, Neville pretending it was somehow bought as well, jesus wept.

Pau looks well off the pace, played them onside there, and let De Bruyne away later

Rogers also isolated on wing, Tielemans in centre lacks the energy of a McGinn or Rogers in hassling their players

Really fascinating game, I am enjoying.

We're hanging on a bit but we might have some impact from the bench against some older City legs

I'm not. We're playing like we're 5 points clear of them and a draw will do. Time wasting and drawing them onto us relentlessly. Yes as half went on they really did seem to tire and we started finding the gaps and cutting through them, but considering how weak they look in defence I feel the game is there to be won.

Too much is being asked of Tielemans - be the creator, but also chase everything down in centre and then shore up middle, while Ramsey and Rogers are barely seeing the ball, instead its long to Rashford mostly. Onana and Kamara are purely in sit mode, and still the ball is getting behind them. Sacrifice one of them, let Tielemans came back a bit with McGinn or Asensio to chase up front and Rogers brought more central my preference

I think that's the plan draw them out, hit them on the break, Asensio and Watkins will come on and then it will get interesting.

Purposeful from Gundongan, should have a card for that

    Every corner is a chance

Rogers has been one of our best players all year, but needs to be taken off soon. He's on a yellow and looking frustrated like he'll kick someone soon

GGood chance for Rashford, and all hisnown work. Great run and timing, pity he was so wide, it needed an incredible finish

Jesus. Get Ollie on... or Malen.. someone with speed and purpose. Even Asensio would offer something different

I don't like Disasi against Doku.

Not a total disaster although it's not ideal. Takes 5th out of our hands now.

Playing defensively trying to soak up pressure doesn't suit us. PSG away and tonight, we were playing with the handbrake on. I know that you can't let City have space but we could have caused them plenty of problems ourselves.

I thought we got it right up to the subs and that the subs would be the difference but they were (perhaps surprisingly) ineffectual going forward and in Disasi's case, disastrous.

Disasi offer little more at RB than Konsa, no threat going forward, just frees up their RB to attack.

We didn't deserve that sickener at end, but we never really played to win, only to frustrate them. Considering how we dismantled them at Villa Park, I really feel we blew a chance here. And that's 2 late City goals in last 2 games as they limp on into top 5

Didn't deserve anything, too conservative, Cash and Disasi done for both goals although Martinez should have saved the first. Unable to get through the City press, they completely snuffed out Rogers and Youri. Rashford looked dangerous. Hopefully Garcia is ready to step up at right back next season, it has been a problem position for far too long.

Kept shape well and made things difficult for City, but poor on the ball when we got it in both halves. Unlucky to lose it like that.

I don't think you can afford to be too adventurous against Man City at The Etihad. They're still an excellent team, the last couple of years we've buried them at Villa Park but away is a different matter. There's a perception they've been crap this season but their still the champions and they're still in 3rd place, you don't be in 3rd place at this point of the season if you're a bad team. We haven't won there for 14 years.

It's a gut punch at the end as I don't think we deserved to lose, but going gung-ho I don't think we'd have been in a position to feel unlucky after 90 mins.

It just didn't fall for Rogers tonight or the subs, that could have been the difference

Yes a sickener but it’s not over yet win majority of our games and Forest and Chelsea slip up. We’ve got to get a result Saturday now.

Alot of chatter about De Bruyne to villa on free end of season this evening.

    Thoughts... he's 33 now though.

Romano reporting that Nypan contract offer almost done and clubs just need to agree the fee.
