Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Grealish passing has been poor so far, he's given a few simple sloppy passes away.

He was poor up until the restart but he's scored some seriously important goals even before that

  • Registered Users Posts: 681 ✭✭✭TheDenialTwist

Please may the second half go just as well...

    The anxiety is killing me...

I'm too ill to handle this!

Highest rated player in the first half.

I'd say he's been the best player for Villa since the restart. He had a huge part in keeping us up and been very good this season.

We’ve had the better chances overall but Arsenal have had spells when they look dangerous.

    Some changes needed I think.

    Barkley very tired looking

I'd bring on Nakamba, push McGinn up.

The mad bit isn’t that we won, the mad bit is it should have been about 8 or 9

Well well well, what a way to get back to winning ways.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,246 ✭✭✭Esse85

This isn't a particularly strong arsenal team, I kind of fancy us to win comfortably

    Hahaha :D

Hope you'd a few quid on it.

    Well called.

    I benched Targett in Fantasy...

    Started Watkins and Grealish though

I did actually so that's a great nights work there!

Fantastic tonight so hard to know how we'll get on going into any particular game but we were brilliant tonight.

Southampton game was all sorts of mental but Leeds is the only game we've actually been bad so far this season, long may it continue.

I benched Watkins and picked Leno over Martinez.

I had Watkins in as Captain and took him out this week.

I benched Watkins and picked Leno over Martinez.

Then I assume went to bathroom for 2 hours given the result?

Maybe its an International break thing, Grealish deciding before he sees Southgate that a timely reminder is needed

I know Smith gets criticised for tactics, subs at times, some of it is quite valid, but the gameplan tonight was absolutely spot on. Tore them apart at times and were hungry to close down etc. To a man it was a great performance.

No away win for all of last season, 3 clean sheets away in a row this season.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,843 ✭✭✭Panrich

Fun Fact: Martinez has more clean sheets at the Emirates this season than Leno.

Great stuff tonight, looked so dangerous going forward and kept Arsenal to very minimal chances.

The Southampton game was two unreal free kicks and an absolute stunner from Ings. Going to get the odd match where that happens and can’t feel too bad about it.

Leeds is the only game we looked poor and got destroyed.

Have a really nice run of fixtures from now till Stephens day. Need to rack up points because the fixtures turn awful after that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 838 ✭✭✭rebelomar

Great response and a fantastic result.

We looked so dangerous on the counter! Grealish could have had two or three. Very unlucky.

Well done Watkins. Stayed much more central tonight and got himself in the right positions. If he keeps doing that he will score 15 goals this season comfortably.

Would be interesting to see the running stats for both teams. Leeds and Southampton I feel beat us comfortably on sprints and ground covered etc. I'd say we beat Arsenal in both tonight.

If Grealish and Barkley get their link up play right and find the fine line between composure and over playing the ball, that could be the difference in our results.
