Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I think he bought you might want to take a deep breath as it could come as a shock but he bought a Ford Ecosport in a beige colour. Big downgrade from the Focus. Maybe the C-Max and Kuga were too big for him but the new Puma would have been a far better choice over the Ecosport.

Really? Post reg plates? Of cars? Wow.

Like this thread but I'm wondering about GDPR myself.

I don't know why, GDPR is in relation to personal data which a registration plate is not.

A pic of a reg plate doesn't identify anyone so there is no GDPR issue. It's literally out in the public for everyone to see in the first place.

I see what you are saying, ie, it's already in the public domain.

But I think reg plates are deemed indirect personal data.

Theres a difference between driving around in public and publishing a photo on a message board.

For example, I suppose many living in Laois could probably identify the person who buys the focus from here.

How exactly? Each year we get a picture of a car parked beside a wall on a driveway.

If you lived in his town or Estate or worked in the Garage where he bought the car, youd be easy able to identify him from the photos here.

Great to see the i on that 3 series!

Would be even greater if that meant a silky smooth straight six like it used to in the good old days!

Apparently they’re doing great deals on the mk7, combine that with waiting for the new one, the inevitable price rise and deletion of equipment and teething trouble then it’s not crazy to get the old one.

And they're a nice car with brilliant residuals even after a model or two changes..

Saw my first ecar of the year. A Hyundai Ioniq. Not a bad looking car. Surprised to see one with Sligo reg though. Only thing I’ll say about it, it is very plasticy. Wouldn’t be to my tastes especially for the asking price.

He's been driving around for years on XX or XXX LS 1. If he wanted to be discreet, he'd find another way. He's been discussed here for years now. I think the local paper has even done an article on him.

Nobody's kidnapped him yet. I'd say he'll be grand.

    You are missing the point.

I am not saying he has a problem with it. I'm am using him as an example that he could be identified by putting up his reg here. As could others.

It was another poster who initially raised the query. I just wondered likewise, if someone was not happy or came across a photo of their car here. Maybe they haven't.

What I've also noticed on this thread is that some of the people who put up their own new photos do actually black out the second part of their reg. Why do you think this would be?

You see a €50k Model 3 and all of sudden the boom is back? Your average A6 or 5 Series or E Class has been selling 1000s a year since the recession hit at similar or higher prices.

Aye ... a basic spec Tesla Model 3 is the most affordable Tesla so far and compares to a mid range Audi A6 or the likes.

That has nothing to do with boom time or not.

Come back, when you see a dual-motor one with all the options ticked.

I like the fact that its affordable driving for some.

My father bought 1 for cash 3 years ago and had no pcp nct etc, 6k to trade up to a new 1, can't go wrong

I would rather a cheaper paid for car than 1 that could be taken away should the payments not be met.

What’s your approach for houses? Live in a timber shed in case a payment is missed and it’s repossessed?

This looking down on people who take out car loans / pcp is getting more than a little boring

6k to get back into a new one is very good in fairness. The rest of your post is just talking bollox.
