Second thought is that I don't know what Geosport is

Sport alone obviously wouldn't have led us to all three. I'm leaning towards it almost being two separate clues. Geo could be Mexico. Sport could then be a few, probably cycle and horse the most obvious...?

(Ideally one would click with Sharapova too)

I don't understand this..I thought when we are given a number that is the number of words on the board...

You get 1 more guess on top of the number given by the captain though.

So what EN is saying is that if GNR knew you had a word from a previous clue in the bag, he would give you a 2 word clue this time, so that you could guess those 2 and use the extra guess on teh word you have in the bag.

But how do we know if it's a 2 word or 3 word clue?

So we have three to guess. Given we'd mentioned van, if that was right, GnR could have given us a two word clue for the other two. We'd have guessed those then been allowed one extra guess, where we'd have taken van

The fact he gave us a three word clue makes me think he knew the above wouldn't work, implying van is wrong

So I think Geosport links to all three remaining answers (one of which will also link to Sharapova, i wonder if she's into horses too or something...)
