Finished Asura's Wrath and its DLC.

Actually enjoyed it. Was like a cross between God of War and Bleach with more QTEs. Just an angry character taking on other seemingly indestructible gods in over the top fights.

Borderlands 3 (DLC) Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Flustercluck

Excellent DLC loved every minute of it. I don't see the hate for this DLC at all. Yes the bosses are bullet sponges but isn't that what you want.

I played Resident Evil 7: Biohazard over the weekend and loved every minute of it. An excellent survival horror game full of atmosphere and creepy goings on. Action is also handled well. An excellent game.

I'm not sure why but I haven't played any Resident Evil games since the original on PS One, I'll definitely have to go through the other games now. Resident Evil 4, 5 & 6 or on sale for €14.99 on PS Store at the moment but I think they are more action orientated games?

    [Xbox]

    Mass Effect

Good game and it doesn't hold your hand as you have to find which planet to to no markers or anything like that. Even when you are on a planet markers are scarce compared to other games where there will be a marker guiding you on where to go.

I didn't do every side mission though but done a fair amount of them. I didn't have sex with anyone either as it never came up on my playthrough. :pac: Didn't use any guides either as I would have known how if I had read through one. Overall a good game but I did only play it now and it was probably really good when released for the time. Graphics weren't the best either on my 4k Tv. People said graphics were great if I read old posts from release.

Is the DLC worth playing from the first? I have Mass Effect 2 and 3 ready to play on EA access on Xbox gamepass but they are not available to play until the 10th.

Batman Arkham Knight[PS4] - a very good game although a few too many BS areas especially involving the batmobile. The biggest plus for me was Mark Hamill as the joker. He was genuinely hilarious at times. [edit]

BioShock [PS4]- what an absolute masterpiece of a game. Enjoyed this so much. A definite must play if you like FPS/Horror.

BioShock 2 [PS4] - another fantastic game in the series, as enjoyable as the first with a few loose ends tied up.

Ratchet and Clank [PS4] - an excellent remake of an all time classic.

Everybody's Gone to the Rapture [PS4] - an interesting storyline but effectively a slow walking sim.

Journey [PS4] - such a beautiful game, especially when you meet a companion en route. Very relaxing.

The Last of Us Part II [PS4] - Loved it, but perhaps not as much as the first. The one criticism that I'd have is that it seemed overly long with some unnecessary padding. Damn this is a tense game by the way.

Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration [PS4] - The female Nathan Drake and a cracking action/adventure game. You know what to expect if you've played others in the series.

Just finished Cube Escape: Seasons after I saw it recommended on another thread for good mobile games. It's a short but fun puzzle game, with simple time travel elements and logical puzzles. I think I'll work my way through the rest of series now.

I'm in the middle of Days Gone at the moment so that will be the next major game completed.

    Urban Strike

After the amazing Jungle Strike this is a major let down and the worst of the series. There's 10 levels, 1 more than Jungle but 3 of them are new on the foot levels which are complete ****. The frame rate in them is atrocious and they must use a different engine from the smooth helicopter missions. The game is obviously rushed with the levels starting off good with some unique vehicles and then totally dries up of good ideas as they progress. A few towards the end aren't great with the last stage being complete ****e with a terrible ending. I would have been very annoyed if I had played this back when I had a megadrive.

    Halo Reach

This was my favourite Halo but I think now I prefer Halo 3. It has by far the best gameplay and AI of the entire series but I think the insane encounters and sandbox feel of Halo 3 is more fun to the more structured Halo Reach level design. Still a great shooter. Story as usually is pretty uninteresting and generic but that's kind of Halo for you and is just set dressing for the shooting goodness.

    New Super Lucky's Tale

Brilliant game managed to get 1000/1000 gamerscore. I didn't bother with the DLC as I would have to pay for them and I already played them in Super Lucky's Tale when they were released. One of the achievement was beat a boss without getting hit and I done it and the achievement never popped so i had to do it a second time which was annoying but not too frustrating as I got it 2 or 3 go's later.

edit: The 2 DLC were actually included in this version of the game. Never even realized that when I was playing it.

I played that on VR when it was released. It's a poor man's Super Mario 3D World but still a great attempt at emulating it. Found it surprisingly really good as well.

Bit late commenting on this but I really enjoyed this game as well. It's not really a game and more an episodic anime. Each chapter is basically the same length of an anime. If you treat it like that rather than a game you'll get a lot out of it.

The DLC I found was a mixed bag. The two animated episodes were very poor. The animation was low budget and they added nothing to the story.

The street fighter ones were a lot of fun.

The final four DLCs would have annoyed me as they kept the last 4 episodes and ending behind a DLC pay wall but they were all kind of incredible and definitely the best moments of the entire package. And the ending did get to me a little.

Just finished Styx: Master of Shadows.
Was the first game I played on my PS4, though only for a wee while so went back to make it likely the last.

I'm not usually a fan of stealth games, but I actually liked it. Definitely wouldn't be able to do the no kill run. I killed a lot, since it uses mostly sneak kills.

Not a linear game so multiple paths to take to get where you're going. also means more likely to get lost, as I did.

Best thing about it was the ability to save at any point(basically a save state) so I may have had 2 or 3 save files only a minute or 2 apart each time. If I had to rely on the auto saves, I would've quit long before finishing.

Finished this last night for good, all I can say is Wtf story is bat**** insane also you have to technically
Complete it three times with the first two being the same route allbeit from a different perspective and, the third the second half of the game
combat was enjoyable I didn't quite get the story though, but I am new to either Nier or Drakenguard, feels like I would have benefited more from diving into some lore.

Reluctant to start anything major as Ps5 time next week, tipping away with moonlighter on the switch and started observation on the ps4 meant to be a sci-fi thriller good so far and meant to be short.

    King's Field (Japan)

The very first From Software game and one of the earlies PS1 games. And it shows. I started this game out of curiosity and thought it would be a total train wreck.

And initial impressions seemed to confirm that. It could quite possibly be the ugliest game ever made. It's so low fi and the texture choice is awful. The combat as well is slow and janky. You are dumped into this dungeon with no idea what you are meant to do and where you are meant to go. And if you explore at the start the first enemy you encounter will be a skeleton who you are way underlevelled for and will kill you near instantly. And even if you go the right way the game is punishing with pitfalls, traps, enemies that can dish out a lot of damage and maze like confusing areas.

But I stuck with it for a bit and it ended up clicking with me. The atmosphere was mysterious and full of dread. I started to get my bearings and open shortcuts. The combat started to make sense. And the dungeon diving had the risk/reward of something like Etrian Odyssey, daring you to push on a little bit more but not too much or you won't have the resources to get back to a save point.

I ended up really enjoying it. You can see loads of souls in the design, from the obtuse goals and game worlds, to the labyrinthian level design that loops back on itself and the measured combat. It also starts to get a little easier as you learn the ropes and level up a little. By the end when I was destroying everything with the moonlight great sword it felt like revenge.

BTW, (Japan) as this game never got a western release and was played with a fan translation. King's Field 2 was localised as King's Field in the west but is actually the sequel to this game.

Everything we loved about wow 15 years ago but with widescreen 4k monitors, high-end hardware supporting 60fps+ at all times, fiberoptic network speeds, MMO mice with 12+ buttons, quality of life addons, ect..

If you have never played Vanilla WoW there has never been a better time to give it a go.

    Ecco the Dolphin

I played the Mega CD version because it had more levels but thank god I did. It makes the game so much easier since they are mid level checkpoints that make the game so much less frustrating.

I actually mostly enjoyed this game. The sprite art is gorgeous and it has a wonderful atmosphere. The mechanics are solid and it's fun to control Ecco. There really is no other game out there like it. It's not without its flaws. There's a few really annoying levels. It can be hard at the start to realise what the game expects from you son 'Forever City' expects you to build up speed in a goldfish bowl to make the three most difficult jumps in the game, this probably was where a lot of players gave up. The CD soundtrack is excellent but the megadrive soundtrack is equally good.

When I say I mostly enjoyed it it's because of the last stage 'Welcome to the Machine'. This is a 6 minute long autoscroller with no checkpoints and is really difficult. However the game opts for some Ninja Gaiden level bull**** where if you beat it, get to the boss and die you have to repeat this 6 minute long autoscroller again... and it will probably take longer because of how tough and unfair that level is. The last boss isn't bad but will take a few tries to learn how to beat him. It's utter bulldhit. The japanese version lets you restart at the boss. And once you beat him.... you get a password that starts you at the boss. Thanks a ****ing bunch.

So I save stated before the boss. **** it, life is too short.
