I don't see the issue? Diana had a massive funeral with a lot of mourning Brits. Elvis had a massive funeral with a lot of mourning Americans. Sulemaini had a massive funeral with a lot of mourning Iranians (there were hundreds of thousands at it, I believe I read).

He wasn't comparing the three as people, just that they were three people whose deaths caused a ripple around their respective nations. It's a factually correct statement.

His funeral has a whiff of Kim Jong-il's about it.

That doesn't add up either, as if the Iranian government has such control over their people, then the massive protests over there recently would never have happened.

If Trump got assassinated tomorrow you would also have hundreds of thousands of MAGA hats at his funeral too, for example.

i said a whiff, not a carbon copy.

And that still doesn't hold up to logic. You may as well be saying Trumps inauguration had a whiff of north Korea to it, or the inevitably huge crowd that would attend his funeral were he assassinated today also has a whiff of north Korea to it.

I don't think would be saying that about his funeral, or that you were about hisnauguration a few years ago if I'm honest.

Unless of course you mean something else entirely by 'whiff' that you would like to expand on?

    We'll agree to disagree :)

So you don't want to expand on what you meant by 'whiff' of north Korea?

The implication is that the people were out because they were "forced" to be there. It's been hinted several times that this was the case, no proof of said claim of course

I think I'll leave it stand on its own merits, you can continue to pursue it or you can move on, up to you.

That's ok, your reluctance to explain what you meant says all it all.

I think it's fair to compare a country which brutalises it citizens with a total disregard for human rights and routinely kills political dissenters with other countries which do the same.

So that's another no to any proof for the claim, just a "feeling" that you are correct

If you haven't encountered this poster before he's obssesed with left wing media. Seems to spend ages trawling their sites finding stuff like this and posting about it in faux outrage. Very strange altogether.

Taking out Suleimani is one of the best things that has happened Iran in recent times. It will be the catalyst for the change that is needed there.

Do you think the plane would still have been shot down if Trump hadn't taken out Suleimani? THousands attended his funeral and burned american flags in the streets after he was killed.

Not one of the Iranian missiles were intercepted by the Americans seems very strange. Im no military expert but would they not have some sort of air defense at these type of bases in Iraq?

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,223 ✭✭✭✭MadYaker

The iranians warned them in advance about the attack. Well, they told the iraqis who told the americans, so id imagine the base was empty.

    What a juvenile question.
THousands attended his funeral and burned american flags in the streets after he was killed.

It was mandatory to attend the funeral. It was propaganda. Propaganda which the MSM lapped up.

They're ripping up his image tonight though ....

"What a juvenile question" haha thats pretty much the calibre of response I expected. I'm not saying it was trumpy's fault it wasn't. But there's no denying he shares a small portion of the blame. Fyi he only authorised that strike because he was under pressure from GOP senators to do so. GOP senators he needs to keep onside for his impeachment trial in the senate. How do you know it was mandatory to attend the funeral? You should stay off twitter. It's imposible to know what's actually happening in that video or who those people are or where the video is from. It's a terrible source for news.
