Have not read through whole thread. Pence said Iraqi guy was involved in the 9/11 event. Any truth to that?

These anti Trumpers are the same type of people who supported the USSR during the Cold War. These guardian readers and champagne socialists are communist sympathizers who hate the fact that their ideology fails miserably wherever it is implemented.

Ah here any semblance of a point is lost with this McCarthyism nonsense. You can't just bundle all points you dislike into a convenient pile owned by an imagined foe.

You make it sound like invading American troops were innocent tourists in Iraq

that was not my point, not even close.
my point is the double standard as many people in the middle east would have supported bin laden.
one mans terrorist and all that.

again there was no outrage from the majority of people inc the same people who are now outraged by this strike.

    its a double standard.

There was plenty of outrage when the us invaded iraq and executed saddam, it just doesn’t matter as they can do what they want, the double standard is the Americans propping up murderers and dictators such as saddam and then casting them aside when they are no longer of any use, that’s been their mo in the middle east and that’s the real double standard here.

Very thorough article here on decision making. Apparently many Pentagon officials didn't expect him to take option of airstrike. Why risk it be presenting it as an option then. Trump is close to not being a rationale actor. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/01/04/us/politics/trump-suleimani.html?auth=login-email&login=email

I am not trying to justify Americas foreign policy decisions or their war machine -
I am simply pointing out that Obama made some hawkish decisions with little complaints. trump does similar but and gets accused of murder.

you must admit it is very strange.

Trump is very rational. He turned down the pentagons plan for air strikes after they shot down the American drone as the casualties would’ve been in the hundreds and he thought that was way over the top.

These fools in the pentagon who are close to the NYT and the Dems now are pretending he’s a loose cannon. They are part of the same scummy deep state he’s been fighting since day one.

Doesn't Congress or something there have the power to remove presidents who become deranged?....surely Trump now qualifies as such, indeed has for quite some time.

So you can be as active in terrorism as you like responsible for the killing and maiming of hundreds of US soldiers once you are a non-elected representative of Iran?

Seems a strange way to look at it

Are you serious? Do you want a list of American war crimes over the years? How are about the WMD pretext for the invasion of Iraq? Was there any truth in that or was it complete bull****?

Exactly and Nazi scientists gave them most of their technology. They are so morally bankrupt they even plundered the Nazis to further their own agenda.

The Democrats owned the slaves. The Republicans fought to free them. So you should be voting for Trump if slavery still grinds your gears.

The rednecks are by definition poor and working class so the thought of them owning slaves is funny. Funny the only place slaves still exist are in Muslim countries. But try telling that to your typical leftie.

Old racist Trump is anti slavery is he? That goes up there with your description of America as the most progressive country in the world whilst still treating a large portion of their citizenship as third class citizens based on skin colour alone. Very progressive

This party bull**** is just that. Everything ours do is right and everything the others do is wrong.

How are people in Ireland so invested to be championing this ****ing idiot.

If Obama had only become the president in 2016 and had done everything Trump has done, the same people defending Trump would be calling for his head.

How about Trump saying Obama would do all this during his presidency and how bad it would make him , that Obama didnt do but Trump now is?

    What are you on about??

Is it so hard for you to admit that Soleimani was a justified target?

I wouldn't dispute any of those and that fact that US intervention in the middle East has been a complete disaster costing millions of lives but that not the point I'm arguing

You’re demented. The richest black man in the world is Dr Dre. So how exactly did he make his money if it’s such a discriminatory system.

Personal responsibility is a hard pill for you leftists to swallow.

And i'll ask again, what members of the american administration are fair game in that case?

A couple of posts ago you were lamenting the fact that he was “taken out” rather than being tried in court. Now you are condemning his trial in court and claiming he should have been tried at The Hague.
It would be easier if you just admitted you were wrong.

Obama gave billions of dollars in gold and currency to the mad mullahs. He doubled the national debt spending more than every president since George Washington combined. He is the biggest fake that ever existed.

That answers nothing in my post.

Trump ran a fake university and scammed people. Is that how this works?

Yeah if it’s between Trump and Killary “we came we saw he died” Clinton. It’s Trump all day long. Trump might have been friends with Epstein but it was old Bill that visited pedo island on numerous occasions. So yeah, Trump was the lesser of two evils.

Left this, left that. I'm no more left than my right arm but it suits you to pigeon hole everyone here because you're too simple to figure out that not everyone looks at every issue and sides as right or left all the time.

Dr Dre made his money in spite of the way america treats him and people of his colour. The music he promotes actively condemns those that run the establishments that treat them like this.

Here is a little look at what your beloved Mr Trump thinks of black people.
