They're still fighting that war 20 years later in case you haven't noticed. No amount of mission accomplished flags on warships changes that fact.

The war on terror is old enough to be drafted into the army to fight the war on terror, yet not old enough to have a bottle of bud. :(

Ayatollahs and Islamic state are allies now?

What a world we live in

And to think 2 years ago it was Erdoğan and Isis now it's Iran ,and Isis .

    Where.

In various posts you have made condemning Russian actions. The world you exist in is seemingly one where anyone who criticises American crimes must be mentally ill.

Imagine if i made the same claim about anyone criticising Russian crimes. It would be absurd, and i'd be embarrassed to make such a claim.

Sure they don't give a flying feck when protester's in Iran and gunned down by the revolutionary guard ,
    It's was somebody's elses fault.

The sanctions the yanks put on Iran , is what caused the protests , they're trying to get regime change in Iran by hoping the sanctions who cause civil unrest. I'd say the republican guard nipped the protests in the bud. I'm not condoning it , but I'm sure the Iranian government don't want to end up like, Iraq, Syria Libya

Fascinating as comes across as a stitch up. Soleimani in Iraq to meet Iraq president to discuss proposals to defuse tension... and then killed by drone strike.

Of course Mahdi is amenable to the Iranians anyway, but this all just underlines what a tinderbox the whole fucķing place is now.

Other reports are suggesting that Pompeo has been in touch with Iraqi Sunni's and Kurds from Iraqi parliament to persuade them to deny the vote to expel US troops.

Mahdi being amenable to Iranians is the most watered down way of putting it, Iranian backed militias have been butchering his citizens for the previous month's when they have been protesting.
The way everything seems to be framed is Sunni bad Shai good, America irrational, Russia and Iran rational.

In reality no one knows what the outcome of this will be - negative to US actions.

    What is known is that

-this is actually one of the few actually pretty moral things for the yanks to do, it's not bill Clinton airstriking a pharmaceutical plant (Al-Shifa) the man who is at a minimum at least partially responsible for the deaths of a lot of unarmed Iraqis was killed (won't mention the americans).

-The Iranians have been pushing things for a while no with no serious response, the UK acted within the law and enforced an EU ruling (ironic that those normally pro-EU didn't like the Brits for doing that) and the Iranians still siezed their ship. Similarly with the rocket attacks and so on.

-Iran is very active in Iraq a lot of posters here think the Americans should leave (not sure about this myself), but why isn't there talk of the Iranians leaving too, a few weeks ago Iraqis were dying on the streets of their towns to protest Irans hold on government but this fact seems to have been edited out.

    - America doesn't need to put boots on the ground in Iran, any one that repeatedly brings it up that it will is doing it deliberately because it shapes a narrative rather than being likely.

-Trump doesn't want to nation build, breaking Iran doesn't mean the USA has to build it back up, and it's much easier to break.

-High oil prices are not bad for the USA, it's now self basically sufficient in terms of middle Eastern oil a lot of people seem to be stuck in the 90's or earlier thinking this, the Saudis could break the shale gas producers and they can back stronger
It's bad for China (good for USA)
It's good for Russia (bad for USA but not major concern remember Mitt Romney was laughed at by the Dems for talking about Russia)
Its bad for Europe (neutral for this administration and lets not pretend Obama spent much time thinking of Europe either) , is likely to increase refugee flows (good for this administration as will push Europe right)

The sanctions the yanks put on Iran , is what caused the protests ,

So what had Iran's supreme religious leader and revolution forces brought to the ordinary people.

Bullets for speaking up and it's all America's fault

Absolutely predictable and likely to be one of many actions.

General Soleimani was lured to his death by a fake proposal to ease tensions with Saudi Arabia.

Thats not how a democratic or indeed any legitimate government operates.

Thats how mobsters operate...which is what the American and Saudi regime gangs have now shown themselves to be.

So America kill one 'bad dude' with massive predictable blowback increasing tensions even further in the region with no obvious 'win' for the US in taking this action. Unless someone can clearly explain to me how the cost vs benefit analysis comes out as a net benefit if the end goal is peace in the region?

And you see that's the point. The end goal here is not peace. Quite the opposite. Too many naive people think everyone wants peace. There are plenty of motivated and powerful people who do don't want peace in that region as peace is not good for business.

But still people on here and elsewhere will fail to see the bigger picture and argue endlessly about why the act of killing one guy was for the greater good and in the end was justified.

Now that this guy is dead the world and US embassies and military personnel in the middle east (a large portion of it illegally occupied by the US) are a whole lot safer! *facepalm*

    For sure.

Israel is pulling the strings of the puppet Trump.
Make no mistake, Jared Kushner and Israel are prepared to spill every last drop of US soldier's blood to wipe Iran off the map and steal their resources. Operation 'Axis of Evil' nearly completed.

Iran has been an Islamic state since 1979.

Iran has the largest Jewish population outside of Israel in the middle East. And Jews there feel safe and have been accepted for centuries. Wonder how Jews get on in Saudi Arabia or Pakistan?

So I see you've moved on from the mentally ill mudslinging argument.:pac: Any chance you can be consistent and condemn this illegal act, or do you have selective moral outrage depending on the actors involved- as i'm fairly sure you would be rightfully condemning the Russians if they had taken out a senior general of another sovereign nation they were opposed to.

Being against some/all of Israel's foreign policy positions doesn't make someone anti-Semitic. Plenty of Jews fit into this category.

To point out the obvious is sensible not anti Semitic, the fact that US middle east policy is run by Bibi is widely accepted. You should educate your self a little before casually trowing out the old anti Semite jibes. It just makes you look ill informed.

Trump tweeting about destroying cultural sites in Iran is one of the most sickening things I have ever seen a U.S president say. Its also a war crime. But the Americans never face justice it seems.

Isis done the same thing in Syria iirc by detroying cultural sites. Seems Trumps got a horn by the head choppers previous actions.

A tweet is now a war crime? Pass the smelling salts.

A thesis that Israel/The Jews control the world in an underhand fashion is anti-semitic. It's the very definition of anti-semitism.
