    Hi there,

I'm looking for a new 65" for what will be a very bright room for most of the day. What is the better option, LG OLED or Samsung Q80/90?

Mainly used for general TV (sport/netflix) with some casual gaming

All other brands would be considered also, these were best options to my mind but happy to take advice.

    Cheers

    Hi Dermot113,

In terms of picture quality I think the OLEDs are a better bet. I have an OLED in my own house in a relatively bright room and the picture quality is still stunning.

The one issue with the OLEDs is the possibility of screen burn so if you are using it for casual gaming with a static image on the screen for a prolonged period of time there is a risk of burn in which isn't covered by warranty. For Netflix and sport though they're unbeatable!

The QLED Q90 would be my second choice as it has the highest spec panel with the best brightness level. It will look a bit more washed out than the OLED in my opinion but there would be no risk of screen burn as it's an LED panel. I decided to take the risk on the OLED purely based on the difference in picture quality!

Let me know what you think!

    Kind regards

    David
