Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Car is after going into limp mode, ESP/ASR faulty is showing up on the dash along with intermittent message saying Particulate filter at risk of blocking. Car won't go over 2000 revs, or 100km/hr and is quite lumpy

Where would you start with this?

I'd be fairly handy myself but nothing seems accessible with this car?

Is it a mechanic job or an auto electrician? Don't want to get ripped off or given the run-around. Any suggestions welcome

The C1391 low torque fault is been logged in the abs/esp ecu from the engine faults you have so you need to sort out the engine faults first and then the C1391 should clear.

    Both faults
P2291 Starting monitoring and P1199 Fuel system are both related to low fuel pressure so I would fit a genuine Peugeot fuel filter first..Note that fuel filter housings can also cause problems so check for cracks on plastic housing.

Fault P1490 Particle Filter is pointing towards a blocking dpf...if its removed and cleaned then this should sort this fault.

P0100 Air Flow Measure could also be related to blocking dpf.

Is it down on power/running poorly..?

    Thanks for all your help.

Yes down on power and running poorly.

The DPF and air flow could be because it's not letting me give it a good run on the motorway to regenerate it with the other faults.

    No Problem,
Replacing the fuel filter would be my first port of call and its a serviceable item so no harm in replacing it.
Did you mis-fuel at any stage...?

Changed the fuel filter and checked the housing, light back on and still sluggish, nightmare

Hmm.....Guess the same fault code is up again..?
Maybe clear fault(s) via diagbox run graphic parameters and select reference rail pressure and actual rail pressure then drive it while running parameters.. Both should read the same or close enough.. When the light comes on again compare actual to ref rail pressure.. If the actual is alot lower than ref then it could be either a restriction in the pickup in the tank or a problem with the suction side of the high pressure pump...The injectors also give trouble on the 11 1.6 hdis but the usually fail on the electrical side and log a fault injector fault code.
Might be worth bringing it to a diesel specialist and see what they say.

    Hi,

I have done a bit of work on my own 1.6hdi in the last few weeks. Had a similar fault on my own, and it turned out to be a loose connection of the turbo solenoid.

I was getting various DPF errors, EGR errors, MAF errors, DPF errors, the whole works!

From underneath, drivers side, look up above the driveshaft and you will see a black and brown solenoid with an electrical connection and 3 vacuum connections. make sure the vacuum hoses are nice and snug and dont come loose when you tug on them.

If they are loose try and get a tie wrap on them and test drive again.

    Ken
