How popular is Ivanka anyway? From an international point of view, I didn't get the sense any world leaders she sidled up to were remotely impressed. I still remember Christine Lagarde polite-but-contemptuous expression. Not that those concerns might register with prospective voters; at home she seems to catch a bit of flack for a similar nepotistic presence, or her China produced wares - but those are often nowhere near GOP adjacent outlets. I suppose without actually being officially part of any political race it's hard to gauge actual popularly. And given some might twist her story as a triumph of the American Dream, anything's up for grabs these days.

You could say exactly the same about Trump himself!

She was very involved in the last campaign, was touted as many as the gentler side of Trump, would be able to control his wilder urges. The running mate is not an issue really. People are going to vote for Trump regardless of who his VP pick is, but there is very big advantages to going with Ivanka.

    1. Should Trump not last the 2nd Term, Ivanka gets gifted the POTUS, and becomes 1st female POTUS
    2. She would become the first female VPOTUS
    3. She would, obviously, make sure nothing ever came back to trouble her dad.

Would he feel brave enough to do it?

Gov Cuomo in New York has done a briefing today that is not only a model of clarity, bit is chock full of new information.

His people have just done a state-wide antibody study (3000 people tested) and preliminary results are astonishing : some 14% statewide ( 22% of those in NYC ) have antibodies, meaning they have previously been infected. This would extrapolate to 2.7 million ppl have been infected which is over 10 times higher than the confirmed case number of 262,000 according to world meters.

I actually found it and was watching a cbs New York clip.

Make sure you watch the Q&A piece also, where he excoriated MC Connell pointing out that while New York is a net payer into federal coffers of 110+ billion while Kentucky is a net recipient of 140+ billion. ..

    So who's getting bailed out????

It cannot be pointed out often enough how hypocritical the Republicans are in decrying "socialism" when many of the states they come from would simply cease to function were it not for "socialistic" government handouts.

USA could hit 50 thousand deaths today.

I have said just that many times all those states like Alabama, Mississippi etc that scream about the "evils" of socialism yet they rake in the money from the federal government way more then they actually contribute to the federal kitty. Hypocrisy of the highest order.

You're assuming McConnell isn't numb to all of this. It'll only hit home when it's him gasping in the ICU praying to God the doctors don't admit someone younger.

Trump might be a selfish idiot, but McConnell is a calculating player, willfully manipulating the rule of law to suit a narrow agenda. A real "rule in hell than serve in heaven" demagogue. I said it before, but taking the senate in in many respects a more vital target than the Presidency

Not a chance of someone like that losing out. If he was admitted they'd be holding back a ventilator just in case he needs it. You can be sure Boris had one waiting for him in contingency, a senator is no difference.

It's somewhat reassuring that there's still a few people in America in leadership positions that aren't blinded by petty idiotic arguments, lies and political manoeuvring. Cuomo is one impressive operator, from what I've seen of him

i think they need to rebrand MAGA as "make american good again"... because it has gone to the utter dogs since trump took over.

Lets not forget this dolt shut down the countrys government for 35 days in a tantrum over getting federal money to build a wall.
The shutdown was the longest in government history

One in six Americans of working age and still fit for work have filed claims for unemployment benefits during the last month.
He has presided over the single biggest unemployment "signing on" when 3.3. milion citizens applied for social welfare in one week in march.
This was the biggest single week of people being made unemployed in the country's history

US oil prices dropped below zero this week because of the lag between production and consumption, meaning oil producers wer epaying refiners to take the oil off their hands.
This price drop put US oil at its lowest value in history

he has rolled back off shore oil drilling safety rules.
he has signed into law orders which limit the state governors ability to object to oil and gas pipelines running through their states, and relaxed the environment safety rules surrounding these.
he has dismantled conservation plans to allow for fossil fuel exploration putting 'at risk' habitats into extreme risk.
Incredibly, He appointed a coal lobbyist as administrator of the EPA, who has since rolled back on obama led clean power plans, including fuel pollution standards and fuel efficiency standards.
And of course, hes pulled the US out of the Paris agreement on climate change.

    America is not great.

America is not even good anymore.

I can't remember where, but there was figures back from somewhere that the anti-bodies were nowhere near what they expected them to be and that it meant people wouldn't have immunity for the second wave.
