Biden imo is certainly the candidate Trump fears most, I think that's been obvious from the outset given his behaviour and the polls etc. He'd much prefer Bernie or Warren.

How is it obvious that Joe 'not even Obama will endorse me' Biden is the one that Trump fears most?

I think the lack of an Obama endorsement is purely tactical at this stage.

Obama will wait until the Democrats have their Candidate selected and then go all in and campaign for them like crazy.

He's deliberately staying out of it to avoid any perception of bias.

Dem voters are very sensitive and the key thing for them is ensuring that all their voters get out and vote for the eventual winning Dem candidate. They need to make sure they don't alienate anyone unnecessarily - and Obama stating a preference at this stage is unnecessary.

John Kelly, Dons last White House chief of staff, has said he believes what John Bolton has in his book about Don and the instruction to with-hold the Senate armament funding for Ukraine. There are at least seven [7] media links reporting Kelly's remark so I'll just post the one from The Telegraph. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2020/01/28/donald-trumps-ex-chief-staff-says-believes-john-bolton-ukraine/

A rush to criticize John Kelly on the basis of his remark would be silly. He was chosen by Don for the job as his COS after Rience Priebus resigned due to the personal comments made about him by the very short-term W/H Communications director. There is a chance that a tweet storm will happen over his remark.

I'm not going to get excited about reports [The Independent] that Mitch McConnell has told a closed door GOP meeting that he doesn't have the votes needed to block the calling of witnesses to Don's trial as CNN has a report to the opposite effect from another GOP person, that they intend to lock in votes against any move to call witnesses. At this hour in events I wouldn't put it past a canny politician to float a fake story intended to get people going hoopla with joy, then to burst the balloon by pulling the rabbit out of the hat.

If you follow Trump's twitter regularly you'd see it. He's constantly bigging up Bernie and seems fairly neutral towards Warren ignoring the Pocahontas stuff. Add to that the Ukraine stuff and it becomes fairly cut and dry for me.

    Attack points

Warren - Woman so Trump will try portray her as weak, lied about heritage
    Bernie - "Crazy Socialist"
Biden - Old white male like Trump, but unlike Bernie is a centrist and holds the moral high-ground over Trump, hence he's the massive threat with independent and non party committed voters etc

    Recent example...

It is obvious when he doesn't even come up with a childish nickname for Bernie. This is not just him being an idiot. He uses them far too consistently. This is a strategy to push out that Biden is sleepy or whatever without actually having to put forward evidence. However the use of a nickname for Biden and not Bernie shows Trump thinks Biden is more of a threat.

We don't need Trump to think Biden is a threat. He is obviously not anti corruption. This is a man famous for running a hoax University, abused his charity foundation, didn't pay contractors and used the presidency to directly benefit his Florida resort (amongst other things like attacking stores that didn't help his daughters company that Leroy helpfully listed out earlier). We can pretty categorically say he is not anti corruption.

Republicans lack the votes to block witnesses at President Donald Trump’s impeachment trial, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell conceded late Tuesday, a potentially major hurdle for Trump’s hopes to end the trial with a quick acquittal. Earlier, Trump’s lawyers concluded his defense with a plea to move on.

This needs to be bolded and emphasised: this narrative peddled that Trump is suddenly some kind of international Elliot Ness is total, disingenuous nonsense. Trump "University" alone should be the smoking gun that demonstrates the man is simply a Trust Fund away from being a genuine flimflam or grifter, whose business life is dotted with demonstrable cons - either provable as it was with Trump University - or those grey areas rich people can dabble in. He started his 2020 re-election campaign in 2017 for goodness sake, for those fat tax breaks and loopholes. The man knows the angles.

As to the nicknames, I don't think it means anything; Bernie isn't yet a proper threat and Trump is aware enough that Biden has been running away with the polls so far - thus out comes the lazy name calling. Watch the nicknames come out the second Sanders starts making proper headway.

Nicknames. Jesus Christ. What a child.
Though I still laugh inwardly at Trump's first attempt to insult Nancy Pelosi via a nickname... ".. or as I like to call her, Nancy". *slow clap*

I genuinely hate the nicknames he comes up with, but I make a special exception for Low Energy Jeb, which is so specific in its brutality it gives me a chuckle.

Plus I'm fairly certain he's called Bernie a straight up Communist.

I agree that Trump will come up with a nickname for Bernie if and when Bernie goes up the polls. I reckon High Tax Bernie. Can't imagine the man wants to be saying a word like communist too often as he will fall over it. It does show that he considers Biden a threat. Bernie is a threat but Donald doesn't consider him one yet.

Yeah his multiple cons throughout his career should have taken away any benefit of the doubt but his supporters still fight to give it to him and take him at his word. I can't imagine why someone would take him at his word at this point

This is where we are folks, debating which derogatory nickname the President will use for who.

    Well done America.

He's called Sanders "Crazy Bernie" a few times and honestly it just makes Sanders seem cooler.

Sanders would fit into FFFG no problem or most European center right parties.

He's far too consistent as a politician to fit in with any of those parties.

This "peace plan" is just a suggestion, the Americans have zero authority in the region and should be told by the rest of the world to fcuk off

They also don't need the oil (do they give a s*** about those that do?) and so what is their motivation behind this "suggestion"? PR?

Trump probably owes a few countries in the middle east a few favours at this stage for bankrolling him so that's probably it. (hopefully the mods don't phantom delete this comment either).

Getting Netanyahu re-elected , which in turn helps them with the Jewish Vote and the Evangelicals in the US for November.

So, as with everything he does , it's all about him and how it benefits him and nothing else.

He dropped his immunity claim, so it's not looking good for him over there. But as always with Bibi, I reckon he'll find a way.

It would be h to come off worse in an interviewthen this.... made it sound like he was doing Palestine a favour with his “deal”...... and who uses the phrase “ankle biters” ?

Pretty awful alright - Basically the message to the Palestinians is - "Shut and do what you are told"

Kept talking about how they'd "brought people together" but then only named Israelis and not Palestinians.

So his achievement here is to get all the Israelis to gang up on the Palestinians and not argue about how to shaft them - Brilliant.

Clearly not many Palestinian votes to be had in November...

So is he saying he went against the advice of his advisors to hire someone and they were terrible? I fail to see how this doesn't reflect horrifically on his management skills.

Also He said they called him "Sir" when giving this advice , which means no one actually said that , ever.

Whenever he quotes someone as calling him "Sir" it's just not true.

The peace plan, written by the Israelis for the Israelis, and to be used as a stick to beat the Palestinians with. There was so much wrong with it but Jared Kushner would probably be living in Israel if he was not living in the USA.
I knew the plan was going nowhere, when near the start of the announcement, Trump talked about the Al Aqua mosque...

With that in mind, it's worth noting that Kushner and Netanyahu are close family friends. Is it any wonder how Jared got the role with zero previous experience?

Seems like this whole charade is just as a precursor for more Israeli aggression. Kushner's rhetoric is practically goading the Palestinians into rejecting the deal, thus allowing them the latitude to effectively declare them beyond reason & thus deserving of whatever fate Netanyahu has planned after this inevitable rejection.

Netanyahu has literally slept in Kushner's bed (the latter spend the night in the basement).

Exactly - And this pushes the extreme end of the Palestinians to kick off and the Israel then re-elects Bibi as he's the "war time" PM.

That then firms up the Pro-Israel , Religious Zealot vote for Trump for November as well.

    Wins all round eh?
