We'll keep our eyes on 2020. Hoping for a GOP win in 2024, indicates you have given up on 2020 for Trump.

Evangelicals have got loads out of Trump. Prayer meeting in the oval office, the recent photo op with the bible. Continued attacks on LGBTQ, Muslims (the Muslim ban) and although I doubt any of them believe Trump for a minute, they will see this has having Religion back centre stage.

In terms of farmers, well didn't Trump basically become a socialist and dig them all out? With the very real possibility of getting trade deal with the UK to allow them to sell into the UK.

Don't underestimate just how focused these people, particularly the evangelicals are. Nothing else matters to them. Truth, scandal. Nothing. Its all about the bible, the lord Jesus Christ and then coming revelations.

I think it's debatable that he'd need to really give the evangelicals anything at all. He's appointed two conservative judges to the supreme court while doing nothing to anger them. I'm actually surprised when I hear reports of people in the religious demographics turning against Trump to be honest.

The socialism thing means nothing to be honest. It's how its sold. Rural states are vital for Republicans so socialism is fine for his voters but somehow not for everyone who needs healthcare which is of course, everyone at some point or another. I wonder if those farmers are poorer or richer in net terms once subsidies and losses from tariffs are accounted for.

American food is toxic in the UK. Moreso if it's imported in such quantities that it damages the Conservative voting rural communities which heavily comprise southeast England. Given Johnson's lack of any real ideology, we have no idea how that'll play out.

The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.

Its nuts that the Covid 19 death toll in the USA is 118,000 in the USA and it's going to get a lot worse because of the Trump administration

It's not nuts. It's to be expected. What is nuts is what they were passing of as acceptable (as in accurate)projection figures.
Reuters: U.S. Coronavirus Deaths Projected At Over 74,000 By August
The U.S. death toll from the coronavirus outbreak could exceed 74,000 by August, according to the University of Washington’s predictive model, often cited by White House officials and state public health authorities. Late on Monday, the university’s Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) model raised its projected U.S. death toll to 74,073 by Aug. 4, up from nearly 67,000 predicted a week ago, and 60,000 predicted two weeks ago. (4/28)

At that stage, they were already at nearly 60K deaths officially with some saying the true figure could be much higher given how they were reporting them.

They have broken 120k at this point. Always the issue with these is they go out of date so quickly.

It's just been mentioned by Ryan Tubridy on RTE that Facebook has pulled a Trump Campaign Ad related to his decision to declare Antifa to be a terrorist organisation. The Ad included use of a Nazi Concentration Camp prisoner symbol, an inverted Red Triangle bordered in Black worn on uniforms there to designate one as a political prisoner. The link below is about the campaign using the Ad.

    https://secondnexus.com/donald-trump-nazi-symbol-ad

Edit. There doesn't seem to be another source for this report, even by googling for a report involving F/B, apart from secondnexus.com, so I hope it not a false news story made for the intent of stirring trouble. If Mods can't find an alternative confirmation for it and suspect it's a fake. please feel free to delete my post. Despite Trump being very free with designating people to be something they are not, I reckon the use of a Camp prisoner symbol would be even a step too far by his campaign for survivors in the U.S and Israel.

To quote McMoustache from elsewhere on this forum....
88 were sent out and by hyphenating "far left", he got the word count in the first sentence down to 14.

Now I'd really love to hear how this isn't a dogwhistle and purely an accident

Twitter on Thursday evening took the rare step of appending a warning label to one of President Trump’s tweets after the company determined it violated its policies on manipulated media.

The president tweeted a doctored version of a popular video that went viral in 2019, which showed two toddlers, one black and one white, hugging. In the version Trump shared, the video has been edited with ominous music and a fake CNN headline that says, “Terrified toddler runs from racist baby.”

Interestingly CNN did run the unmanipulated footage as an actual story. It was of the two toddlers running to hug each other in what can only be described as the opposite of race baiting.

One really needs a sick mind to manipulate the sweet original video.
    To retweet it, WTF?

The pointer being that racism is a learned trait and not the natural response of humans when young.

He complains about "fake news" yet is the king of spreading so much fake news!

It often takes literally one or two clicks to disprove a fair percentage of the stuff that he posts or retweets. His Twitter account is the worst source of utter nonsense on the Internet, and that's saying something.

Trump's re-election campaign has had an ad pulled for using Nazi symbolism. The ad called for antifa to be declared a terrorist organisation and had a picture of an upside down red triangle.

For those who aren't aware, upside down triangles were stitched to concentration camp prisoner uniforms to designate the type of prisoner they were. Pink was homosexual, green was criminal, blue was immigrant etc. Red, used by Trump's team here, was used to designate political prisoners.

They're not even trying to hide it. I can't wait to see the mop and bucket brigade try to clean this one up.

I think they also ran 88 variants of the ad.

88 being a white supremacist code for Heil Hitler (8 = H, 8th letter of the alphabet, HH = Heil Hitler).

I'm sure that's just a complete coincidence though....

On his fake news tweet I can't believe I needed it pointed out that toddler was spelled incorrectly.

This is just sad and pathetic at this point.

Did anyone else read the Wall Street journal transcript of their interview with trump ? His answer regards to Juneteenth displayed his lack of awareness of what is going on in his own White House.

Also the hyphenation of far-left makes it 14 words on the first line.

Is it a dog whistle if we all can hear it?

I won't pollute the thread by repeating the 14.. it's explained here:

Not sure I buy into this symbolism bit, he’s certainly not clued in enough to be doing it and I don’t see what is to be gained. I’m pretty sure he has the white supremacist vote already wrapped up. If you start looking for particular numbers you can find them. If it is a sort of signal who on the other end is counting numbers to see this stuff? Honestly not sure I’d even go as far as to say it’s a coincidence more a stretch of the imagination.

I see it as merely another tactic to create outrage (among the anti-Trump brigade) in a tongue and cheek manner.

You have to remember SNL were making sketches about all Trump supporters being white supremacists and Nazi's way back in 2016!

    <SNIP>

Considering the likes of Stephen Miller, Jared Kushner, and Ivana Trump are Jewish. I assume they know exactly how to have a subtle dig towards the other side of the house.
The political prisoners triangle reference is clever. Puts noses out of joint for those who are looking for offence.

It works Trump has gotten worldwide coverage and gets it constantly. Well played the Trump campaign still playing the game. Still getting people talking. That was what it is all about column inches and publicity good, bad, or indifferent.

The world is still talking about Trump and can't get enough of him.
Whether the fella is a good president, well that is a different issue.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.
