Pompeo flips out at a reporter, thinking that she can't even find Ukraine on a map so she should shut up talking about it.

    Meanwhile ...

Cue Trump holding up a sharpie-altered map with Kansas state drawn in and all the flags in the white house with an extra star

A good friend from Kansas is probably going apoplectic about Trump thinking the Superbowl champs home city was in Kansas. This is a big sticking point between them and 'those people' in Missouri.

But, Trump sees Kansas, that loony Kobach and the joys of voter suppression and knee jerks this out. No surprise.

Yeah, this is the funny thing about Pompeo's blank map test - were he to apply it to his boss, how many countries would his boss be able to pick out?

Like the time some reporter asked that other thick as sh1t presidential candidate, W, who the President of Pakistan was:
"Can you name him?" Bush said: "General. I can name the general. General."

The president of the United States thought Kansas City was in Kansas.

There is, in fact, a Kansas City in Kansas. It's not where the football team plays - that's the mistake #IMPOTUS made.

It doesnt look like the Democrat strategy of impeachment is going to take out the Donald , Mueller, Avenatti, impeachment, Blasey Ford, some porn star whos ame I have forgotten , the list goes on of failed attempts to interrupt the momentum of the Trump campaign .

Ive often said on this forum that the left and Democrats need to come up with some policys and a decent candidate if they plan to beat him.
They dont seem to be progressing very well on that front either.

It was a pretty momentous weekend, IMPEACH-XIT.
It seems history has both a sense of humpur and a sense of timing, delivering Brexit and the collapse of impeachment all on the same day . .

Doesnt sem to be any mention of the opioid crisis lately on here, or the great work being done by the Trump administration. Ive posted on this topic before , its great to see progress being made.

In March 2016 Donald Trump the candidate promised
“I would stop drugs from pouring into your community, I’m going to do it, I’m not a politician – I’m going to do it," he told those attending his rallys.

In October 2017, President Trump declared the opioid crisis a public health emergency. Ever since, the Trump Administration has applied an all-of-Government approach to the epidemic, taking an extraordinary range of actions that reflect the President’s commitment to stopping the crisis in its tracks.

In October 2018, the Trump Administration had secured $6 billion in new funding over a two-year window to fight opioid abuse... the list of actions by this administration on the opioid crisis is extensive.

The CDC Centre for Disease Control just released their numbers for 2018 and for the FIRST TIME IN NEARLY 2 decades OPIOID Deaths have decreased in the US.

People should pay attention to the work the Trump Administration is doing, and ignore the click-bait.

It quite probably does. If solid governments like those of Rwanda or Mali manage to make it work, it seems reasonable that the Saudis can.

Of note, the ban doesn't actually ban visitors from coming from these six countries, what it does do is prevent issuance of visas which can result in an immigration status. If someone from Kyrgyzstan wants to come on a holiday to Disneyland, they still can apply.

I mean. They are potentially one of the biggest financers of terrorism going. I am going with no they likely don't. (Or you need to rethink the checks).

On another topic I feel it doesn't bode well for the administration efforts that we had such a long break before RIGOLO could find anything positive to say about it.

“ Last week, Fed pumped a MASSIVE $350 BILLION into economy, buying treasuries from banks. They hoped banks would use $$ to buy stocks. But instead, banks bought long-term bonds. Today ,banks are selling the bonds and purchasing stocks, fueling a rally. so trump can brag at SOTU”

    Here they go again!

So we should see testimony by those in the know? You don't think this should at least be looked into? You seem to want proof without allowing any evidence to be looked at whatsoever.

Evidence to support the articles is supposed to be gathered before they go to the Senate. Investigations are the job of congress through the relevant committees. Also, all witnesses in previous impeachments had given testimony (of one kind of another) before they then gave it in the Senate.
If there was a Democrat super majority they would a trial for a man with questions to answer and a history of corruption. I mean with Bolton and the potential for the transcript of the phone call to be released.

If 67+ of the current democrats in congress were Senators, they'd convict Trump and remove him from office based on what they have now, that's for damn sure. You don't think that shows how low in integrity the current crop of democrats are today?
The reason the final Republican fell into place and didn't ask for witnesses was because they felt the case was proven so why bother with witnesses to confirm it. So do you not think there are answers there? If Republicans feel it happened!

One Republican believes that the holdup of aid was to encourage the investigations, but that does not mean that he believes Trump did so to help him in the 2020 election, which is what the impeachment article pertaining to the abuse of office alleges.

Ta Rigolo. A reduction is great news for the addicts and their families. I had a look to see if there was a mention of medical over-prescription and see the CDC made a reference to Pharma Cos and presumably included [by implication] family doctors and medical professionals as the report directly referred to prescription. The last 5 paragraphs show the fight still goes on over the scourge of addiction caused by medical over-prescription of opioids, over and above the part played in the crisis by illegal drug dealers.

A mention was made on RTE's Drive-time show by the host covering the Iowa caucuses happening today of 2nd choice transfers of votes cast for candidates. The report mentioned how people attending the caucuses were asked publicly for their choice and then moved to separate areas in the caucus facility: area A for candidate *, area B for candidate * and so on.

Does the 2nd choice vote capability exist and if so, is it in case of a tied vote between two of the candidates who, by virtue of votes cast, are clearly the front runners in the contest at an unreachable level ahead of the other candidates, or how would it be applicable and usable?

I'd like US voters in the forthcoming contest at causus level to answer only please as they are to be the voters concerned and would have actual practical experience and knowledge of the US causus vote system to be used, please.

Edit: CNN explained the second vote as a transfer [via back of ballot paper] to another candidate of your vote if your candidate did not make the quota.

Schiff lying in the Senate again:
"Hey Russia, if you're listening, hack Hillary Clinton's emails!"

He said he hoped they could find the missing emails.

Chap never stops putting words in Trump's mouth and that he has to keep doing that, shows that what Trump has actually said is not enough to support the narrative he wishes to push.

You're getting upset because someone is choosing to paraphrase a known, publicised incident of Trump goading Russia into hacking his rival's campaign? You continuously hold others to a standard you refuse to hold Trump to. it's stunning hypocrisy from one who'd please intellectual fair-mindedness.

Trump never asked Russia to hack Hillary Clinton and saying that he did is not merely paraphrasing, it's deliberating lying to support his absurd narrative that Trump colluded with Russia to interfere in the 2016 US election. Hypocrisy my foot.

Oh but he was joking, right? Or shall you just plead a technicality, that he didn't say hack HILLARY CLINTON, no no. Shall I just pre-emptively get your excuse out of the way then? He said it on camera, it's on record Pete.

“Russia, if you are listening, I hope that you are able to find the 30,000 e-mails that are missing. I think that you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press. Let’s see if that happens,” Trump said during a press conference

Uhh. He said it on national TV. Is your defense 'he later said he was joking?'

    C'mon this isn't hard.

Eh, that's what I said he said already:
He said he hoped they could find the missing emails.

So you're not preempting anything and wasn't a technicality either. He lied. Saying Trump asked Russia to HACK Clinton's emails is a hell of a lot different to what he said and you can twist it anyway you like but it won't change it.

If you lost your wallet and I jokingly asked people to find it, would it then be okay to while apparently "paraphrasing" me to say that I had asked people to steal your wallet??

You all nitpick Trump over the smallest of word mistakes, or turns of phrase, and yet excuse Adam Schiff outright lying.

Give me a break, he is saying this in the SENATE in an effort to try and convince the senators to remove Trump from office and if ever the truth matters, it matters there!

How could Russia obtain these emails other then by hacking ?

How do you feel about the original incident of Trump encouraging Russia to "find the 30k emails that are missing" live on air, Pete?

What an awesome summing up by Adam Schiff in the Closing Arguments phase of the non-trial of Trump in the Senate!! Contrast that with Cippolone's non-argument that was basically just a thank-you fest to his partners in the subjugation of decency, honesty and above all constitutionally inspired justice that Republican Senators have participated in.

CNN, covering the Iowa caucuses, just showed two election result maps for Obama and Trump. After the results of the 2015 election were tallied up, the right side of the map had changed completely from democrat Blue to republican Red. While tonight's caucuses won't be a guide to a party win, the turnout for the caucuses, when compared to that of 2015, should show if the Dems have been energised by the Trump 2015 win. One thing that may have an effect is the rule change on caucus vote mentioned in the report. Dems are allowed to vote now from abroad, mention was made earlier of votes from Dems in 3 other countries via computer. Hopefully there will be enough anti-hacker protection input into the Dem system to block attacks over the net. It'll be later today that actual trend or final results will be in.

Trump standing gracefully and respecting the National Anthem, just like any President would do.

Dementia, meds or just wasn't getting enough attention for two minutes?

I'm sure one of his rabid supporters will be in shortly to tell you how it's not disrespectful, he was interacting with the people there or some other lame excuse.

Shockingly bad form for him to act like that during the anthem, great role model for the young people there.
