Yeah, when I read what you wrote and further articles my jaw dropped. But when I watched the video, it's clear there's nothing in it and was all in jest. Stupid, but clearly in jest.

Some fantastic news to finish off a Monday night.

I hope the proverbial book is thrown at him.

It would be great news but Trump has already called it a Miscarriage off Justice. No one on Federal charges will be seeing much jail time.

I agree with Enjeti, it would be farcical for him to do receive such a sentence.

Though, again not surprised to see the anti-Trumpers response so far given their calls for such disproportionate sentences for Michael Flynn. Anything to do with Trump and such people's sense of reason seems to go out the window.

Wasnt Trumps favourite chant "lock her up"? Nothing about a trial just "lock her up"

Hey Pete, for the 5th time, what quantities do you not like in Trump, as a person and a politician?
Is there something significant preventing you from answering this question?

Wasnt Trumps favourite chant "lock her up"? Nothing about a trial just "lock her up"

And they've resurrected that old favourite chant at last night's rally, this time directed at Nancy Pelosi. Not to mention the constant whinge from Fat Donnie and his acolytes for the summary imprisonment of Comey, Mc Cabe, Strzok, etc. His cult wants all these folks to be sent directly to jail, without ever having had a smidgen of legal process.

Stone, however, was tried and found guilty on multiple counts of serious crimes. He has received due process and now he ought to be locked up in accordance with the law. Let's hope Harvey Weinstein isn't using the walking frame the next day Stone is due in court, as I'm sure Roger will want to impress on the Judge how frail and weak he is.

The double-standard hypocrisy about poor Roger 's 67 year old self and all that is sick-making, but totally in line with what counts for sensib!e argument from Trump supporters.

Stone is a disgusting example of the type of political operative known as a rat -****er. He's been at it for decades, all the way back to the 1960s. Like all the other thugs from Donnie's team of 'best people ' who have received prison sentences, Stone deserves whatever is thrown at him! I'm sure Paulie M is keeping the bunk warm for him.

Says the guy that believes every word out of the mouth of Trump.

Him and Flynn both championed sending someone to prison without any conviction.

Some delicious irony in this photo.

Anyway - Trump doesn't have supporters anymore. They are his followers. There is a difference. At this stage, it's like arguing against a flat-earther.

    I agree with Enjeti

I know. Of course you do. Whether it's such luminaries as Mollie Hemingway, John Solomon, Chuck Ross or any other mouthpiece with twitter who feels compelled to defend Trump's gang of felons, you will agree. It's basically your thing. At this point, you have to.

What sentence to you thinks he warrants. Are you aware of the crimes that he has been convicted of and how much jail time each of them should carry?

So people above a certain age should just have diplomatic immunity if they happen to be Trump supporters?

At least he got a fair trial and due process.

Does Bernie Madoff deserve no time in jail because he's old and didn't commit a violent crime?

I said I agreed with Enjeti, not Chuck Ross.

And that is perfectly fine. I am asking on what basis have you taken that position?

Do you know the crimes that Stone has been convicted of? What do you think a person that commits and is convicted of those crimes should be faced with in terms of punishment?

What is key as well is that Judge Jackson has read all of the Mueller report, including the redacted material and so she knows a hell of a lot more than the average joe.

Meanwhile, Flynn's prosecutors are roping in his former lawyers in circumstances where he claimed that he was duped into admitting that he lied (he did so twice) and he blamed those former lawyers for that and is seeking to withdraw his guilty plea.

They will be forced to defend themselves and no doubt prove that they fully informed him of his choices when he decided to plead guilty. No doubt, he will get in further sh1t for lying about this also.

Regardless, 45 is lining up pardons for them both. Flynn should be fine. Stone on the other hand may be facing state charges.

EDIT - and just after Trump tweets about Stone, and AFTER the prosecution made their recommendation...

Wow, Barr finds the sentencing recommendation excessive and is going to change it. A totally, shocking development.

You know, when TV shows jump the shark its not really a big deal. It can be very funny at times, like the USA in many ways though other than it actually is quite a big deal when you can literally see the empire crumbling before your very eyes and you know that because of how much reach they have there will be consequences far reaching for more than just the citizens of that empire.

Trump will pardon him and probably give him the Medal of Freedom.

Pardon him all they want, the conviction will stand in peoples memories, like the impeachment. The judge might not go along with the DOJ change of play so soon after the original recommendation.

The prosecution decision to ask for Flynn's former defence team is because DOJ allegedly want to prosecute him for perjury during his trial.

No surprise, they've been in fascism mode for a whole now.

Any word from the 'enlightened centrists" who couldn't rush quickly enough to claim nothing has changed since Jan 20, 2017?

They recommended 7-9 year sentences for Roger Stone, which the DOJ immediately overruled because they don't want Roger to have a reason to tell the truth.

Whether this was a resignation in protest or a "resignation" in the same sense that Epstein committed "suicide" while the highest profile prisoner under Barrs watch (which was then quickly swept under the rug) we will find out in the coming days, I guess.

Edit - this post on reddit is about as comprehensive as you could want. This poster is maybe more worth following than any political pundit etc I can think of when it comes to Trump - https://www.reddit.com/r/politics/comments/f2flcy/comment/fhc6w8p

    3 have now resigned.

And Trump just said that it was a disgrace that Stone was found guilty, and with this move he has shown that he has the DoJ at his beck and call to do his bidding. That is a shocking abuse of power.

I take it to mean that there's been resistance from middle management lawyers to the top floor and the three resignees think its better to fight from outside with power rather than beat their heads against Barr's wall.

Well not quite. He was convicted of witness tampering, a very serious offence in any legal system.

And of course the real question has to be why anyone would get themselves in such trouble if there was no issues.
