I have lots of family stuff on dvd.

ive noticed some of these are starting to get a bit problematic when playing.

What would people recommend as a better way to store/keep the footage?

At the moment, I use a camcorder (yes, I know....) with a hdd , I then transfer the footage onto dvd via a dvd recorder,

Is there any other (better) way to store/keep the footage ?

Just transfer the video form the camcorder to your laptop/pc and then also create another copy on an external hard drive.

You don't have to play them ..... copy the video files off the dvds (rip them).

    Not a huge chore.
