    Hi there,

Myself & my father registered a new irish construction company last year but we are only starting up now.

Any recommendations on which bank are best for lending to SMEs? He regsitered an account with Ulster Bank, Ive tried to get an appointment with a branch manager or business advisor but I'm told that doesn't happen anymore, it's all over the phone for lending. They're a bit of a nightmare customer service wise from what I can see!

I personally bank with AIB and find them great. May persuade him to switch. Might also look at getting an N26/Revolut business account as we have an old company in the North and would be losing out sterling to Euros.

On another note - we have an accountant but they are too far away from Dublin, any recommendations on decent accountants that maybe specialise for small subcontractors in North/West Dublin?

Website/Email address domain registry- for anyone in the same boat. I registered directly through Bl*cknight and hopefully our new email will be up and running today. Good value.

Trying to make sense and avail of all the tax reliefs and incentives available to new businesses on local enterprise.ie website.

    TIA.

    Hi,
I moved to PTSB for business banking a few yeas ago. they have a specialist Small to Medium Business manager.
He has been great for advice and lending applications , and will meet for a coffee fairly quickly,

I find it a fantastic resource and would recommend them.

I also use Blacknight, who have excellent support and a range of hosting packages. (I'm not getting any commission for this advert).

Local enterprise have mentoring sessions available, these will help you get your business plan together and also assist in grant application. the mentor sessions are in blocks of 2 hours for €40 and worth it. as far as I know you have to be in receipt of mentoring for a grant application (open to be corrected).

    hth,
    Sys
