Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

That's why Mata should be playing more often against the smaller packed defence teams imo.

Rashford !!! Great ball from Mata.
    Been electric today Marcus

Rashford has been brilliant. Mata always has the key, just a lot of the time now he forgets where he left it...

Mata’s the perfect player for these types of games against sides who will only defend . Still got a bit of creativity left in him

Think i proved my point on that goal, Mata plays in the position he’s supposed to be in and crosses it to Rashford who has space to score. Stay out there Juan or swap with Perreira.

Mata for all his deficiencies is still a great creator. He put that on a plate for Rashford.

Martial has been absolute plop this half.

Martial has been absolute plop this half.

He's been up for it though. Can't fault the work rate.

Some nice play happening out there but we still look vulnerable once we lose it, need another one.

Williams is a breath of fresh of air to the team

    Great attitude

    Great attitude

Well deserving of his place today.

Shaw has been coasting far too long and a bit of competition definitely needed.

Yeah AWB and DdG bailed us out for all our dominance that half.

3 clean sheets in last 32........Jeez!

Admittedly I’m not tactical genius, But how is united the only club it seems in the top half that is really missing this kind of player (Pogba aside)? Like Is there absolutely no way of the squad compensating for this deficiency? Does every team in the EPL have these sort of players?

Liverpool’s central midfield is often three lads that are not known for their attack minded play like a Pogba. What is it , fabhino, Henderson, Wijnaldum, llalana
and Milner? Are these not just well coached and setup as opposed to being great at unlocking defences?

To be fair, most top sides do.

Look at David Silva and De Bruyne at City. Ali and Eriksen at Spurs. Maddison at Leicester.
Even Mount and Willian at Chelsea contribute more in top end of the pitch than our midfielders.

On Liverpool, I take your point.
But even though they don't always catch the eye, the passing ability of their midfield is very good. Henderson's eye for a pass in particular has really improved under Klopp.

Of course they also have those full backs who are just devastating.
14 FB assists in the league alone. And we're barely halfway through the season.

Nice at least to see that lovely assist from Mata today!

There's hard running but not intelligent, there is jogging when there should be hard running. In effect Rashford is doing his work as well as his own. This is the sort of match that a forward of the calibre Martial thinks he is should be monstering, especially with Rashford to share the load. Instead he hasn't really caused any problems

Nothing really. Same old martial performance so far.

Delayed too long on the ball after Mata played him in, was lining up a shot and Zimmerman just got back to nick it off him

Zlatan on the scoresheet for Milan today. Played the 90 mins too.

Firmino's movement/ intelligence/ dropping a bit deeper plays a big role for Liverpool.

Williams should be starting ahead of a fully fit Shaw every single time from now on. Unless Williams needs a rest, then Shaw can offer cover.

Ed will be sending the lads back to Portugal.

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,193 ✭✭✭✭Kerrydude1981

LB is sorted, Williams is a clever player, a few times today he has gone forward and stayed forward but has tucked in as shown by his position for the pen

Imagine if we got a full package RB, AWB's defending and recovery is his strongest asset but his attacking play needs a lot of improving

    Ok take Maguire off now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,476 ✭✭✭Comic Book Guy

    He's human!

  • Lol how did he miss
