A quick look at marinetraffic.com shows there's a few fishing vessels out in the thick of it, they're in for a long day.... Plenty of european fishing boats are taking shelter along the west coast.

Brendan is roaring, unbelievable noise here on the west Mayo coast.

Can't imagine what Grace experiences out at sea.

At 6 am the low was elongated, with two centres, 948 and 951 hPa. It's 5 hPa more than the 943 hPa forecast at 06Z yesterday. However, it's about 1 degree further south, so likely to pass slightly closer to the west coast later, and the gradient on its southern side looks a little steeper, possibly with signs of a sting jet. I think they'll go red from Kerry to Mayo this morning.

These are some of the warnings for the airports. Cork up to 70 knots.

A whole queue of European trawlers making a run for cover in to Bantry Bay; it must be getting bad out there!

If it was going to go to red you’d think they would have done it by now. Parents will be dropping kids to busses around now or within next 20 mins.

Another windy day in the way, much ado about nothing.
Anyone else remember walking to school with a bag on their back in this kind of weather when young?
They have kids destroyed nowadays with all this health and safety rubbish.

And if a famiy member or friend of yours were to get killed or seriously injured as a result of ignoring weather warnings would you still call it "rubbish and much ado about nothing" then? Have a bit of cop on please.

Took the day off. Boss will be pissed if this turns out to be a false alarm and all that happens is a few brollies destroyed.

Quite still on South Louth atm

    SPEAK UP PLEASE!

Just sworn aloud,, Putting cat food out for the feral and the wind grabbed the entire dish and blew it away.. Cat is fine as he is happily gathering the bits!

But the power in that wind...

My bedroom is at the north end so not so bad; just made breakfast at the south end and deafening there.
This place has no soundproofing. Aluminium walls and roof

Yes I’d say so. They’ve covered themselves well in the forecast too

Can confirm. Really picked up in Galway in the last half hour. Gusts have the house creaking. Off to school and work now.

ECM 0Z much the same as previous runs in general along the coasts gusting 130 to 140 km/h but along the SE looks maybe a bit stronger than earlier forecast possibly up to 140 km/h. Inland also looks stronger on the latest run during the frontal passage gusting generally 110km/h and up to 120 km/h in places.
