Few tough decisions to make this week after scoring 90 points last week and jumping from 9th to 3rd in ML

    Current team is
    Guaita(Button)
    Soy TAA Lundy (Gomez, Rico)
    Sarr Traore KDB Mane Zaha
    Kun Rashford (Greenwood)

Is it worth doing a -8 for
    Guaita > McCarthy
    Zaha > Noble
    Greenwood > Ings

Might do Kun and Traore out next week then for Firmino/salah and ?

100 behind leader in ML btw

    Any thoughts? :D

The Vardy vs Aguero debate is what I love about this game - great arguments on both sides and nothing wrong with the rationale on either side. This is what makes the game fun and interesting.

I'm talking myself into Auba, Vardy and Martial out / Aggy, Salah, and Greenwood in for a minus 4

This game is all about dumping highly owned players before they go stale and getting in low owned players before they bandwagon. You sometimes have to make bold moves.

In addition to the arguments already made by the pro-Aggy camp, I would say that there may be signs Vardy will dry up. His Xg is far lower than what he's achieved. He's on track for 30+ goals this season and he's never had a season like that. I don't believe his form in the first half of the season is sustainable and variance suggests he should score less. Then I would say the same about Leicester generally- they're a superb team but i don't think they're an 80 point plus team. The loss at home to Soton is a question mark.

Ultimately Aguero is what he's always been - the most explosive player in the game who is a rotation risk. You can look at the risk either way - a risk not to own him and miss out on a haul or a risk to have 11.8 on the bench.

I think he'll start on the weekend after scoring 3 last week. If he's benched midweek i can live with that as I'll have Salah captained.

The arguments for Vardy are totally valid but my gut is telling me to go for Aggy

Vardy went up last nite so there are obviously plenty of people who think he still has lots left to give

I think so pending presser and maybe regardless. Firmino in

Tempted by 2 options for Rashford/Zaha for -4.
    A: Aguero/Noble
    B: Mane/Greenwood

Could also just do Rashford to Firmino but love owning Aguero and also want rid of Zaha.

Given that he’s supposedly injured then yes, but might depend on you paid for and can sell him at etc,

It adds an interesting dynamic if he is injured for a while in that Greenwood at 4.3m could become a viable option and not just a bench fodder - which will allow folk to upgrade elsewhere.

Did option A with Willian instead of Zaha.

On the Aguero v Vardy debate it's really a matter of opinion/gut, there is no wrong or right answer. I eventually came down on Augero's side but with Maddision as Leicster cover incase they pump an out of sorts Burnley.

Already done my transfer but now have Rashford missing out potentially. Already had Cantwell on the bench with some ill ease so might just let him play if Rashford doesn't. Might actually bench Rashford as if he does somehow manage to play it will be limited minute wise.

Also in my mind he might have only scored 2 points anyway going against that Liverpool defence in its current form.

4th top scoring player in the game, playing Liverpool away, and likely missing for one game, it's just a bench for me

Thinking of getting rid of Aurier but no idea who to replace him with. Have 3.5 m in bank as it is and have TAA kelly, Lundstrum and Soyuncu

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,127 ✭✭✭The real mccoy 91

2fts and considering a punt on tammy before swapping to bobby for the double. And then take a -4 bringing lanzini and masuaku in for ozil and rico. I could punt on vardy either for the week...

Last I'll say on this before Saturday, even if Aguero doesn't start, it's not the wrong decision to bring him in. I feel some people are very results oriented.

I've wildcarded and replaced Grealish with Sarr. Grealish has been decent last few weeks, especially the 13 point gameweek but Villa look woeful now. No striker and Grealish was played out of position last game.

Watford very much on the up and I've been impressed with Sarr. Looks to be in form.

Ricky has been an unexpected injury

Was hoping to keep him for the matches vs Newcastle and Watford

Think i'll just switch him to Sterling for this weekend now

This guy has a link to a GK discussion from the 7th/8th Jan.

    https://twitter.com/fpl_rockstar?lang=en

Price is always a factor- Foster v Cathcart for example.

    GreenandRed is probably right above.

You probably can't stretch to Alisson but he could be the least disruptive, similar to those who see Firmino as an option, especially if a WC soon after the double is on the cards.

Fab's injury is short term I think so keeping and upgrading your fodder? could work and perhaps even BBing in GW24

    Captain Cantwell anyone ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,553 ✭✭✭Dubh Geannain

It's Jiménez to Ings or a bank for me this week.

    Martial, vardy, Abraham out
    Salah, Gerry d, Ings in

-4 above, already have Aguero, sterling and taa, robbo.

Just as I put Rashford on the subs bench the captaincy defaulted to Cantwell whom I subbed in. Then a second later I see this comment.

    Is it a coincidence? Absolutely.

Will I pretend it's not? Absolutely.

Capt. Cantwell. Until the morning at least :D

Hanley to Tanganga, think Hanley is fit but can't see any upside with him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,226 ✭✭✭Pete_Cavan

Anyone any thoughts on Aaron Mooy? He is mainly an enabler to get Salah next week. Usually plays well up the field, Brighton are an attacking team and have a decent run of fixtures now. Part of me thinks it would be worth having an inanimate carbon rod in midfield to have Salah for the DGW.

Doucouré was in my plans until I saw these comments from Pearson:

"He’s not trained this week, he had a fitness test on Saturday, so he’s been playing with discomfort for a while and it was touch and go whether he played.

But he’s a very resilient lad and his demeanour’s been very positive. He was desperate to play, but he’s only played today because of conversations that we, as coaching staff, had had with the medical staff to make sure we understand what the risks are."

    Glad Doucoure is starting.
