Haven't heard anything yet, but Career Services had a post on FB this morning, asking people to like for a notification when the 2020 recruitment campaign begins. Normally they're pretty spot-on, so I'd say possibly in the next month or so?

I was on career services this morning on my online account practicing for stage 1 ( getting ready already for next campaign) and the practice material vanished from my portal so I emailed asking what was going on and they emailed me back apologizing and that they were just updating the material for 2020 campaign! Ahh . Looking sooner rather then later!!

Has anyone bought the stage 1 online course on career services yet? Unsure whether to buy it yet or wait until the campaign is open again.

yeah I bought it back in January. Its 125 and I emailed and they give you an option of paying the extra 45 euro when the campaign opens again to go and do the Career Service Day in one of the locations. I find it very good as it tells you what exact format will come up in the exam. I bought Noel McLoughlins Stage 2 last year and it was nothing compared to non verbal that came up in the PAS exam.

I ended up buying it myself and find it great so far.
Was also being optimistic hoping there’d be sign of recruitment by now, no such luck..

The Garda college will close next week and will be handed over to the HSE for use as an emergency sanitarium.

Current student Gardaí will be deployed to stations nationwide to assist with an emergency civil policing plan. The April / May intake of new student Gardaí will not take place and is suspended until further notice.

I have this from a close relative in Garda headquarters.

So there is likely not to be any recruitment this year for the guards?

Iv been counting down the days until this year's recruitment campaign and realising now it's not going a head is so discouraging

If its resolved by mid-year, maybe. But the current class that were rushed out last week will need to complete their training when it all dies down.

There’s people who have been waiting up to 2 years after passing all the stages. Just know that it can be a long process and you can’t be gaurenteed to get in straight away after passing each stage

In the same boat.... Very hard to stay motivated with no time frame but I guess we just gotta sit this on out! My fingers are crossed!

Hi guys any update on news of when there might be indications of a recruitment campaign?

*posted on the Garda recruitment page on facebook*

When can the next Garda Recruitment campaign be expected?

This is a common question we have been receiving. As we are a private education company that specialise in providing preparation courses for the Garda selection tests, and are not affiliated with the official Garda recruitment process, we can only give general information.

Budget 2020 suggested that the force aimed to deliver up to 700 new Garda recruits in 2020. It was therefore anticipated that there would be a recruitment campaign in the Spring of this year (2020). Understandably however, the unfolding Covid-19 situation will likely have an impact on this. Unfortunately we do not currently have any information on when the next Garda Recruitment Campaign will take place.

However, for those interested in our preparation courses, our Garda Stage 1 online preparation course is currently available to book. This course includes all the Stage 1 Garda test styles that have been used in previous campaigns including the most recent campaign last year.

There is absolutely no disadvantage to advanced preparation and the current situation means that candidates booking this course now will likely have longer access than any previous campaign as the date / time frame of the launch of the next campaign is unknown. If you are interested in finding out more about this course please see here: https://careerservices...tage-1/online-course

In addition, we are still taking sign ups for our Free Job Alert Service which we will use to notify those on the list when we hear of a new campaign.

If you would like to sign up to this you can do so here: https://careerservices.ie/job-alert-servic

I got that resource even though it costs 125 euro like it would be worth it. It would give a lot of time to prepare for the Gardas

Yeh is to be fair like it shows the stuff from last year. Like they added the 4 tests. Verbal, Non-Verbal, Numerical(only new so not sure if they are going to add this) and the Garda questionaire.

It also gives u some like terms and conditions aswell in regards to the Garda requirement

Hey Everyone! Are there any updates on the Garda recruitment campaign for 2020???

  • Registered Users Posts: 225 ✭✭daniel1390

Not very likely at all to be a recruitment campaign this year hence all what is happening and the current campaign from 2019 has been paused

Hi, has anyone heard of the Garda recruitment age limit to increase from 35? Given the results of those that took the case to Europe, and since the PSNI age limit is 55 I was curious to know will the age limit increase in the next intake?

My partner is a garda a reckons September they will start recruiting again. They will have to keep recruiting to keep up with numbers. Also a friend of mine is waiting to do her PCT. She was booked in for April but was held off due to covid and when she met the Super he said he thinks Templemore will kick off again in July for PCTs.

I would highly recommended buying the career service material.
I could not believe the information they give you in it and how it relates so much to the exam. I can guarantee if you got the career service prep for AGS you would pass the exam . There is no difference in the exam material then the prep.
