I'm guessing Posy for Forrest Gump

For Blade, I just zoomed in on the very corner... ;)

We need a list of entrants.

My Lt. Dan was rightly beaten by a worthy competitor, the Home Alone is phenomenal!

Thanks to all who voted for it and congrats to the winners.

Really enjoying this so far! Had no idea the standard would be so high. Better get practicing for the next game!

Match 5 consists of two paintings from the same series of movies up against the sweet sound of song.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,628 ✭✭✭✭Trigger

Edited to move images onto same page for fairness

That's another 2 very tough rounds!

The Balrog has been getting them gains in the gym!
The sound of music is great as it's obvious instantly but I always had to choose a LOTR one. It was close as I love both scenes.
    What swung it?
I think the fact that Aragorn should be saying 'This day we fight' and not 'Today we fight'. It's a game of inches!

Second match is Pyscho, just suberb!
It's a pity that ET scene doesn't get my vote this time as the colours are magical and make a beautiful scene.
I just laughed out loud at the Rambo one, it's genius

In the first round today I voted for my favourite movie rather than my favourite picture. I feel guilty about that now. Is that an acceptable way to vote? It's just I've never actually watched LoTR. I've tried. Oh I've tried but I just cannot get into it. So those scenes weren't at all recognisable to me even though they are AMAZING! TSoM is immediately recognisable to me and very well done!

TSOM picture makes me laugh everytime I see it. The chin on Maria is hilarious and the little inverted soul patch.

Rambo is my favourite painting in the comp. Its brilliant and still recognizable

I don't get the Rambo reference. I've only seen First Blood.

There is so many close ups of Stallone's face in Rambo that take up the whole screen. And Stallone's face is pretty square.. least I think that's what the painter was getting at

The Rambo one is brilliant, but the psycho one is genius

    BONG BONG BONG BONG!

After a closely fought match The Lord of the rings - The Fellowship of the Rings goes through to the next round.

Match 6 was basically a whitewash with Psycho blazing a trail and leaving its rivals in the dust.

Commiserations to the painters of the 4 losing pictures, who are as follows...

Baggly - The Sound of Music
deconduo - Lord of the Rings - The return of the King
    Baggly - Rambo II
    greenspurs - E.T.

    InsistentFancyCricket-size_restricted.gif

I will see ye in the morning for the final 2 matches of the last 16. both of which after seeing the line ups will be closely fought affairs.. We are in for a peach!
