These "leafy homes" are a bit overrated anyway. When the first gales of autumn come, one has to go out and sweep 'em up or hire a fella with a leaf blower. More work and expense.

To paraphrase multi pensioner Pee Flynn...
You try it sometime, Whacker, you try it sometime.

I was out walking and had"cans" ;) on, and you are right, you really could hear the disappointment in his voice

And, you see, here is an opportunity for RTE to save a big wad of money for the rest of 2020.

Leave Joe stay on till 4:30 each day, for no extra money, cancel Ray D'Arcy immediately (saving 450,000) and just discuss this one topic for the rest of the year. There'll be no new government formed for ages anyway.
There are plenty of Whackers and mad auld FG/FF wans out there who want their say.
The debate is essentially people who work for things vs the scroungers dressed up in party political support. There'll probably be at least some gold each day.
Listenership goes up.... Ads and sponsorship goes up, cost is taken out. It's a winner!
    You're welcome, Dee.

A Golden moment there with Whacker.

Love to have had the chance the Dr. had to open up and tell Whacker to go and f**k himself.

    You could have something there......

Look, nothing can be decided till Joe has taken soundings from Fadder Iggy, the Parish Priest of Portlaoise, the Parish Priest of Ballyfermot, that priest in Clonmel with the English accent, one of the posh sounding Monks from Glenstal and one female Church of Ireland priest with an exotic sounding surname, for balance.
Then we can go from there to John O'Donovan and maybe Aubrey and things will become clearer.

Mary Lou went to my school and came from a very fine house on leafy Orwell Road. What would Whacker think of that? Probably like the taxi driver who took me home via that road who was stunned when I told him she wasn’t the simple wurkin class gerrl he thought she was.

This is the thing that always fascinates me. How a young woman from a well off area of Dublin ends up being the mouth piece for a bunch of thugs.

She was in FF, her family were always fairly republican and supported that wing in FF*. Gerry Adams approached her and said if she joined, she would get a free run at the Euros in Dublin in 2004 where they were expected to get a seat.

IIRC Sean Crowe, the SF TD in Tallaght was originally earmarked to run in the Euros, but SF were targeting different demographics; young, middle class, educated, female. That's why Mary Lou is where she is.

*I stand corrected here, but I think her sister is well up in Eirigi.
