Hi, looks like our Samsung TV got zapped by lightening yesterday... HDMI no longer working, there is someone coming to look at it on Saturday but in case it needs to be replaced, is it possible to just buy a basic saorview TV, we have a Humax box for satellite stations and I love the interface on that so will keep that( hope it's still working 🀞) and a mi Box for Netflix etc.

Does such a TV still exist? Probably 40-43 inches,

    Thanks

    Hi emg74,

You can certainly get a TV which has Saorview however it is quite difficult to find a 4K TV at that size that doesn't have a smart hub.

You could go for the LG 43UM7400 which has Saorview built in and a great entry level 4K panel. It's currently £329/ 379 euro:

Let me know what you think!

    Kind regards

    David

Hi David, just looked at our space and that tv is too wide. What's the next size down? Will know on Saturday whether we need to replace but looking likely at this stage. The broadband guys were here earlier so the router and receiver on roof both need replacing so I'm not holding out too much hope for the TV

    Hi Emg,

if a 43" is too wide then the next size down is 40" ( the choice is limited!) and you would be looking at something like the Panasonic TX40GX700 or GX800:
    https://euro.richersounds.ie/cssearch.aspx?searchterm=tx40#pgnum=&sort=

These are a bit like hen's teeth at the moment - we just about have stock of the GX700 but the GX800 is out of stock at the moment with no ETA..

Keep us posted and thanks for checking in,

Hi John - Change of plan, the TV guy was here earlier and the TV and HUMAX box are both damaged - so now looking at TV with satellite built in. I had a look at the Panasonics that you sent the links too - What is the quality like on those?

The repair guy was recommending either LG (2019 +) models or Sony.. He recently bought an LG from yourselves.

ANy further recommendations - as I said the space is tight - Current TV is a snug fit at 910mm wide

    Thanks in Advance,

    Eilis

    Hi EMG74.

The Panasonics would not have the satellite tuner built in unfortunately. Picture quality wise they are very good.

Smallest LG with a Sat tuner would be the 43" mentioned above which is too large for your space coming in at 1075mm
Sony also only in a 43" coming in at around 1070mm.

    Let me know your thoughts.
