    Hi Folks,

Almost finished the room at last, it's a long story.

Have LG 49SK8100PLA set, with a SK9y sound bar, and the LG-SPK8s rear speakers for it, but it looks like I need to upgrade our ancient DVD player to avoid hassles.

It would seem that the sensible plan would be to stick with LG, and that suggests that either the UBK80 or the UBK90 would be options, but deciding which of these 2 is the better option is proving hard, as it seems there's not a lot of difference between them, and as the TV has things like Netflix and the like, having it on the Blu ray as well would seem to be overkill, and there's quite a difference in the pricing, especially with the Euro price at the moment, or have I missed something fundamental in the checking I have done.

So, which Blu ray would you recommend, or is there another supplier that would be a good match to the rest of the system?

We're visiting Belfast for a couple of days at the end of the week, so collection from the shop is very much an option.

    Look forward to your thoughts

    Thanks

    Steve

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁

    Hi Irish Steve,

The main difference between the two is the UBK90 will support more HDR formats such as Dolby Vision whereas the UBK80 will only support HDR10. The UBK90 also has streaming apps but if you don't need them the main differences are the HDR support between the two units and the UBK90 also has Twin HDMI outputs!

Let me know what you think!

    Kind regards

    David

    David,

Looks like the best decision will be to go for the UBK90 . Can you put one aside for collection, not sure which day, other than it will before close of play on Saturday. We're already in the system, the TV and the sound bar were supplied by yourselves. I will drop you a PM with contact details etc, we'll pay in shop on collect if that's OK.

    Thanks
