Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What rules would be around the running of a premium rate text competition in this country? Is a licence required or any kind of regulations? Are you required to run the competition based on the initial sales pitch that you promoted or can you change your mind 10 minutes from the end time after hoovering in all the cash? If the competition takes in over €100k a week are the rules more strict?

I don't watch the Late Late Show. What change was made to the phone-in competition in the last ten minutes.

Promoted as winner would be called live on the show, they were not.

Yes it is. If it was €200 at play it would be fine but we are talking €100k plus at stake, complete joke, FAI MKII.

The terms and conditions of the competition set out that RTE have the right to award the prize with out the call live on air for various reasons. Read

them when this weeks Late Late Competition is posted for the exact wording.

There's nothing wrong in what they've done and it can be for various reasons e.g. (A) winner has a disability, (b) technical issues, (c) timing over runs etc... the winner is always posted online e.g. confirmation of this weeks winner

    PRS are regulated by Comreg.

The promoter gets only a fraction of the call or text cost - the phone networks, PRS operator and VAT eat up quite a bit.

There is a reason most radio stations have moved back to standard rate numbers because people won't pay for premium rate anymore.
