Meter box door replacement

Just completed the purchase of a second hand house in an exposed area.

The meter box keeps falling off. How should we remedy this?

Is it that meter box hinge pins wear over the years? If I buy a new door is it definitely going to stay on wall?

Can you see why it’s falling off, is there damage to the door or the frame?

Just called ESB Networks, they will replace it. No charge for the first replacement.

Most models hinges are plastic. The box shouldn't be opened enough for wear to occur.

As I mentioned the house is in an extremely exposed area, if it was not closed properly previously the wind could have taken it off.
