Funny!!! You didn't know that on another thread last night. :)

It's fair to say you are anti-republican and anti any Irish person who takes pride in how we achieved who we are now.

That is what I defend against. That you happen to express it most often in railing against your boogeymen and women in SF is what it is.

I don't think I've ever disliked anyone or anything to that extent that I felt the need to spend all day, every day, for several weeks, on an internet forum engaging in mud slinging contests, discussion, subterfuge, debate. It's very odd behaviour.

Can anyone care to explain the desire/rationale behind this type of behaviour?

It's clear some posters here are being paid for the contributions.it's the spin unit in action.

While the usual caveat about all pre election promises being null and void once the ballot boxes close must be borne in mind, SF's slim chances of holding onto the seats they have took a big hit today, with MLM stating that a border poll will be a precondition for any party falling to the temptation of considering SF as a coalition partner. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot rather than just shooting someone.

It'll give Tubridy something to ask Arlene about tonight...get the row going, so to speak.

I heard a semi-sane SF policy for the first time ever today.

They propose to remove the Universal Social Charge for people on incomes under 30k.

That sounds good. Everyone likes tax cuts. They're really talking about abolished the USC and imposing a new tax on everyone earning more than 30k. Maybe they could call it the Some people Social Charge.

No surprise there really but on an economic level it makes no sense for a socialist party to do something like this. Tax cuts are effectively a taxpayer funded payrise. Ireland is approaching full employment and there should be pressure on businesses to pay more but SF is going to ride to the rescue of shareholder dividends by picking up the tab instead?

Whatever about their links to terrorists and criminals I don't believe SF have any kind of competence to manage the public finances here.

Well I would say it is bit too coincidental. If you were going to profile a likely person, to deface those posters it would be 'the stereotypical Dublin SF supporter' in my opinion. Which might say a lot about me, but it also says something about the perception problem SF have.

I think Coveney's hand writing would be neat and tidy? So I would rule him out.

Stereotypical Dublin SF supporter must tick the following boxes.
    1. Celtic jersey wearer
    2. John Player Blue in arse pocket of denim jeans
    3. At least 3 stone overweight
    4. Refers to War of Independence as " Tan War"
    5. Doesn't bother his fat hole voting.

The top two posters by a long distance in a thread about why people are not voting for Sinn Fein are the biggest kneejerk defenders of Sinn Fein on these boards, and neither of them support the party!!!!!

One of them is only voting for them for the first time!!

Someone defending something they believe in I can understand. However my original question is why someone would spend numerous hours a day, every day, for several weeks debating, discussing arguing against and engaging in non stop truculent behavior, that is entirely focussed on something they detest, is a real brain scratcher for me.

If I ever hated something that much I would make one or two comments to state my beliefs and why, and then I'd move on and leave it behind. Spending my whole day focussing on something I dislike would drive me to depression.

Either the person engaging in the behaviour enjoys being argumentative, would rather focus on negative aspects of life than the positive, or is receiving some form of incentive/reward for it.

I can't figure out what distinguishes him as a 'Dubliner'. Maybe he meant to say John, the Player in Blue? :)

Haha this type of thinking is like the Hillary Clinton deplorables slur against trump supporters. Please keep saying things like this.

SF being elected to government is like Ireland voting for Trump?

    That's harsh.

Or maybe not a problem for some.

In a hackneyed Brendan O'Carroll kinda way.
If the Shinners go up in the polls we'll have a week of it. A bit like Mother Brown's Boys at Christmas...it'll be everywhere. :)

Everyone slating SF as if they won't deliver. The irony of it all, none of them will deliver! It's the same aul ****e every few years and it'll always be the same aul ****e every few years when elections come up. It's just whoever talks the most ****e seems to win. Get your heads out of your arse and accept, were all just slaves to the system and the puppet masters pulls our strings and we obey! It's that simple!

theres posters of Charlie Flanagan around laois getting defaced because of the RIC debacle and locals can tell you it isnt shinners doing it. the locals are disgusted by their td

i think all you've really done is shown how off the mark you are in your observations - and of course how very very stereotypical your thinking seems to be. your post does indeed say a lot about you

How many polls has there been in the last 3 weeks?

    I count 4.

Which ones are accurate as they all vary?

Well if it's in any way accurate, FG falling below 20 is 'mad' IMO. Never expected that tbh.
FF only on 23 seems mad too. I'd have expected them to surge on a FG fall. Need to see the detail.

The greens and indos pushing on 10% each would suggest that people prepared to move away from main parties.

As Colette Browne said combined left 46% v FF/FG 42%
