Perhaps more widespread there than we thought. Wasn't the first Wuhan patient on 1st December nowhere near the wet market, which suggests it may have been on the loose from somewhere else. It's so weird if this really has gotten out of control in Iran already, completely under the radar, when this doesn't seem to have happened anywhere else except the epicentre. Even if it has been spreading unnoticed for weeks in the US or Australia for example, people arent suddenly dropping dead and then being diagnosed. Seems very strange and also the timing with elections and stuff, makes you wonder if it's not something else going on there.

Yes with the elections today, timing of first case and the movement of riot police to Qom is pretty suspicious. Very difficult to trust anything from this regime.

There was a suspect case in Iran 2 weeks ago aswell, one wonders if she was indeed positive given how widespread this is. I believe Qom is a very important religious place in Iran with alot of pilgrimages arc- does anyone know if there was something on in the last 2 week's that the administration wanted to remain open (No grounded) Feels a bit like the Wuhue dinner

The number of new coronavirus cases may be dropping in China, but a health expert has made a grim discovery about some patients who have recovered.

"We should not be relaxed. The figure may go up again," said Zhao Jianping, who is leading an expert team working to contain the outbreak in Hubei.

He said there were cases where recovered patients showed traces of the virus through nucleic acid tests.

There were also results in Canada where swabs taken from two people who had recovered revealed they still had traces of the virus, reports news.com.au.

"This is dangerous. Where do you put these patients? You can't send them home because they might infect others, but you can't put them in hospital as resources are stretched," he said.

The Iranian authorities may be worried about the pretty negative reaction by the public to them shooting down the Ukrainian 737 full of Iranians and then going after the person who leaked the video that showed the missile strikes. What happened to him, anyway?

You are fully recovered when the level of virus is low enough that symptoms ease off - not when every single virus in your body is gone.

If it's proven that low levels of the virus can remain in a person long term after feeling recovered - then it's an issue.

It's pretty clear from the experts quote that this is an unwelcome discovery, so it can hardly be the norm, otherwise it wouldn't have been unexpected and so rate as a "grim discovery".

While not important in the grand scheme of things on the gaming side there's been lots of pullouts from big tech conventions. Seems like supply lines are getting hit also for things like VR headsets and next gen consoles.

That doesn't answer the question of why it's locked down. There weren't thousands of cases before it was acknowledged or even locked down. (Well tens anyway)

Why can't you see it? What basis do you have for your prediction? There is absolutey no reason why it won't happen here. It's highly contagious and as we know has a long incubation period and doctors still aren't sure of all of the transmission methods. A perfect recipe for outbreaks to be repeated worldwide. The only difference so far is that it hasn't spread quite as rapidly. haven't the CDC in the USA already pretty much admitted they're just trying to slow it down? It's inevitable unfortunately.
