They talk about rural crime as if cities are not being ravaged. It's Cork and Drogheda in trouble, not the far reaches of west Ireland. Have to be a tad bit realistic.

The aul rural garda and he sat in the station all day.

Sure why would he attend the scene of an armed robbery where his life could be in danger

It's like the post office, the rural people are just missing somewhere to socialise without being able to drink and drive.

What I can't understand is who is in all these social houses?

I thought social houses were for people without jobs. But then I thought we had record low unemployment.
Also 1 million medical cards? WTF.

There are always going to be a cohort of people who will go out do an honest days work but won't earn much more than the minimum wage or a single income household on low income and have no hope of ever getting a mortgage.

There are those who have not and will never work too but social housing should not be a stigma that tars honest hard working people on low income.

Without extra prison spaces you could add 1 million Gardai and the problem wouldn't go away.

Looking at these pathetic bunch of sh1theads, its depressing to think what awaits us for the next few years.

Must admit out of this bunch, id have a bit of time for Roisin Shortall who seems to have some resemblence of integrity about her. If i seen any of the rest drowning though id throw them both ends of the rope. Especially Varadkar

30987 prison spaces to be exact.

Maybe if the judicial system wasn't so useless letting people wander around with literally 100's of convictions we wouldn't need more guards.

Let the prisoners out to build the houses.

That's not a bad idea actually.

Something to be said for the US chain gang idea. Make them do something useful.

    God almighty Ryan is painful

Lol, Eamomn Ryan really lives up to the Green name. His policy is "the grass is greener over there", eg look at Vienna, look at Portugal. It's still better than People Before Profit I suppose.

I am in favour of the government spending money on cheap pure cocaine. I dont think atleast two people on that stage would object either.

I can’t understand why people think they are entitled to a government funded house ! If you can’t afford where you live , move , buy a doer upper and make it work if you won’t get a job or contribute to society stay at home with the mother

And if you can’t feed them don’t breed them

    Entitlement has the country ruined

The idea that the Portuguese model is good is nonsense. Having been in Lisbon and constantly harassed by drug dealers waving bags of white powder in my face. They have no fear because it’s decriminalised.
