Hi all, I'm enquiring for a friend about holidays in this area. It would be a family and self catering option. Would love to be near a beach and have a hotel / restaurant and shop close by. Can any of you recommend nice areas?
    Thanks

Have a look at Clonmany festival, it's the first week in August every year and it's great for a family. They have a website that'll tell you everything you need to know

North Inishowen is lovely, with some great beaches, scenery and cheap accommodation.

The area up around Malin, Culdaff, Ballyliffin.

Plus you're half an hour from Derry which is also worth a visit.

North west Donegal has plenty of beautiful beaches for example Buncrana Ballyliffen Culdaff or Malin Head Irelands most northerly point is easily reached from any of these places

Plenty of hotels b/b at reasonable prices as well
