    Match 1:
Don't Fear the Reaper - Blue Oyster Cult
One of my earliest memories of a song & I loved it immediately!

    Match 2:
    Space Oddity - David Bowie
    It's just Bowie!

    Match 3:
    Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen
Haven't voted for this before now, but it's much more of a classic than Patti Smith one

    Match 4:
Go Your Own Way - Fleetwood Mac
Great tune & better then the other one

Hotel California - One song I never tire of hearing. I've never heard tell of the other one either.

Born to Run - Never really got into Bowie but I do like Space Oddity. That being said, Born to Run is Springsteen's finest hour.

Abstain - I ****ing love both and don't want to be responsible for either being knocked out.

Don't Stop Me Now - It isn't Fleetwood Mac.

This competition has brought out the worst in me... mostly because you're all voting through the wrong songs, but I'm not here to point fingers, so forget I said that bit... I'm actually a really nice person!

BOC - Hotel California is way overplayed. DFTR has a nice oomph to it.

Born to Run - I've been wanting to finish a mathematical parody "Horn for Sums" for ages, but I've never got around to it. But yeah, the original is great.

Queen - overplayed, and not their best work, but the other does nothing for me - like a wannabe Blondie.

Queen - this _is_ one of their best songs, though there's nothing wrong with the Fleetwood Mac tune either.

It took me about 10 reads of that sentence to work out what you were saying :D

I’d love to know what you’ve written so far. Or is it for maths geniuses? Cos I won’t get it if it is.

Match 3 - Bohemian Rhapsody, an all time classic.

Match 4 - Don't Stop Me Now. Just prefer it to that particular Fleetwood Mac song.

Match 1 Hotel California The Eagles

You need to give a reason for it to count

Vote No 1 Bowie. Space Oddity. The soundtrack to my youth. I still can't believe he's gone. J

It's the bally ballyness of it that makes it all seem so bally bally.

With the exception of Hotel California, I am quite happy to see any of the other 3 semi-finalists winning.
I will probably miss the action tomorrow, as I will be out most of the day, but I will check the winner as soon as I get back a chance!!!
    Good night everyone.
    Rainbowtrout, thank you again!!!

Space Oddity is the only deserving winner from the Final 4. Just crown it now to save time.

    ** SEMI FINALS **

There will be no quota for the semi finals. I will leave this open until 2pm tomorrow and then run the final in the afternoon/evening. Again give a reason for your vote for it to count. Votes after 2pm will not count.

    SEMI FINAL 1

The Eagles - Hotel California v David Bowie - Space Oddity

    v

    SEMI FINAL 2

Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody v Queen - Don't Stop Me Now

    v

    SEMI FINAL 1
The Eagles - Hotel California v David Bowie - Space Oddity

Nothing easy at this stage of the competition, but I'll go for Space Oddity as I can make a much better effort of butchering it on the guitar

    SEMI FINAL 2
Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody v Queen - Don't Stop Me Now

I'll got for Don't Stop Me Now as I marginally prefer it. Love both

The Eagles, great sing along. Was never a Bowie fan, like the beatles, he was vastly over rated.

Queen bohemian rhapsody. Argueably one of the best songs ever written. Vastly superior to its opponent

    SEMI FINAL 1
    David Bowie - Space Oddity
deserves to win the competition, the eagles is boring.......

    SEMI FINAL 2
Queen - Don't Stop Me Now

Probably against the grain here, I like both songs, but just prefer this one.

    #1 Space Oddity
A true original. Hotel California is overplayed and is mostly quite bland.

    #2 Don't Stop Me Now
While I don't think it should win the whole thing it's a fairly inoffensive and fun song that's less indulgent and overrated than Bohemian Rhapsody.

    Semi Final 1:
    David Bowie
. Although I started listening to him late in the 80's I came to appreciate him as one of the best singers and songwriters of the last 50 years. Space Oddity wouldn't be my first choice, but I would like to see him getting in the final at list!

    Semi Final 2:
    Bohemian Rhapsody
. Both great songs, but for me what they did with Bohemian Rhapsody was groundbreaking, combining so many different styles in the space of 6 minutes
