    Well that was bizarre

He just walked off. No questions.

And just like that he is gone. Very short, seems hassle setting up the Rose Garden for that!

A few tweets could have covered it? :)

The press conference was called to announce measures regarding China.

Well that's incorrect. Obama wasn't a great POTUS but he was nowhere near as bad as his predecessor and miles better than his successor.

The opium, drug and crime business thrived under Obama especially as manufacturing jobs were lost to overseas.

5 minutes reading off a teleprompter giving out about China then walks off. Too afraid to take questions. Pathetic.

It wasn't a press conference. He read a statement and walked away.

Yeah while a city burns a few hundred miles away. Great leadership.

A functioning president would take questions.

Trump is not capable of sanity and his aides know this so of course he heads on.

Very divisive president. Needs to be booted out of office in November. The damage he does every day is going to take a long time to heal.

Yeah didn't take questions. Ruined a lot of people's evenings

It not his age that concerns me, it's his mental capacity.

    But not Trumps? Jesus.

The worst part is, if this is him with his full faculties, imagine what he'd be like with some decline.

No, you don't understand, he is not capable.

That's why he doesn't take questions.

    Everyone knows it.

Hes been taking questions and arguing with everyone at every opportunity since day one. There were almost daily press conferences right up to recently during corona virus. He's probably had more press conferences and taken questions than any other president.
He didn't today though. And like I said it's probably ruined a few people's evenings.

Someone posted the link earlier and said they had a few beers chilling in the fridge for it. Evening ruined.

Remind us why they were canned.

    But they did happen? Daily

Trump had fewer press conferences in his first 3 years as President than any other President in the last 50 years. He had quite a few more this year (disastrously so), seemingly because he missed doing rallies. But the idea that "he's probably had more press conferences" than any other President is ridiculous.

Yes, i'm just asking you to remind us why they were discontinued.

What was problematic on a daily basis about those press conferences?

    Can you remember?

Some people say that he's had though, like nothing the world has ever seen before.

They were set up to thrive years ago, you are misinformed if you are putting that on Obama or Busch Jr. either.

For anyone that's interested Sam Harris' latest podcast is with David Frum. Frum was a prominent member of George W's administration and is a lifelong Republican, but he's not a fan of Trump to put it mildly. They spend a large portion of the conversation on the election in November. Basically Frum can't foresee how Trump can win. He suggests that he was incredibly lucky to get such an efficient distribution of his votes in 2016 and can't see that happening again. It's worth a listen I think, usually non-subscribers get the first hour or so free.

I see Trumps zealots have disappeared since his presser, probably frantically searching right wing sites on how to put a positive spin on this clusterfùck.

Probably like you and me. ;)

You can ignorantly accuse me of "whataboutism," but what it really is involves identifying similar scenarios in order to see if it holds up when the shoe is on the other foot!
