Irish company have a robot built that among other things uses ultra violet light to kill the virus. I presume they will receive the same pile on as Trump?

OUTSIDE THE BODY on surfaces NEAR the patient , NOT IN the patient - Did you even read the article you so smugly linked to????

It's built to clean rooms and surfaces NEAR infected people so that Humans don't have to do it..

Now you are saying you don't claim to know her thoughts and are not qualified to read body language.
    Why say it then

I can't say that I agree with you

Do.you think her reactions are those of someone who agrees with what Trump is saying?

Trump should stick to talking about oil the economy etc because to be fair it cant be argued how well the us economy was going pre virus, but he looks like a fool when he talks about medicine from his gut feelings.

That post is made up of a stupid, retarded and wholly ignorant idea and the poster should feel bad about reaching the holy trifecta of idiocy with a take like that.

It's a bit risky to talk about the economy at the moment though. Unemployment figures, the price of oil, stock prices and everything else that does well when things are good are, to put it mildly, in the sh!tter. He would be better off just hanging back and letting the experts lead and avoiding undermining them.

    This treatment goes inside:
Cedars-Sinai-Developed ‘Healight' Medical Device Platform Technology Being Studied as a Potential First-in-Class COVID-19 Treatment

Led by Mark Pimentel, MD, the research team of the Medically Associated Science and Technology (MAST) Program at Cedars-Sinai has been developing the patent-pending Healight platform since 2016 and has produced a growing body of scientific evidence demonstrating pre-clinical safety and effectiveness of the technology as an antiviral and antibacterial treatment. The Healight technology employs proprietary methods of administering intermittent ultraviolet (UV) A light via a novel endotracheal medical device. Pre-clinical findings indicate the technology's significant impact on eradicating a wide range of viruses and bacteria, inclusive of coronavirus. The data have been the basis of discussions with the FDA for a near-term path to enable human use for the potential treatment of coronavirus in intubated patients in the intensive care unit (ICU). Beyond the initial pursuit of a coronavirus ICU indication, additional data suggest broader clinical applications for the technology across a range of viral and bacterial pathogens. This includes bacteria implicated in ventilator associated pneumonia (VAP).

"Our team has shown that administering a specific spectrum of UV-A light can eradicate viruses in infected human cells (including coronavirus) and bacteria in the area while preserving healthy cells," stated Dr. Pimentel of Cedars-Sinai. Ali Rezaie, MD, one of the inventors of this technology states, "Our lab at Cedars-Sinai has extensively studied the effects of this unique technology on bacteria and viruses. Based on our findings we believe this therapeutic approach has the potential to significantly impact the high morbidity and mortality of coronavirus-infected patients and patients infected with other respiratory pathogens. We are looking forward to partnering with Aytu BioScience to move this technology forward for the benefit of patients all over the world."

And before you come back and say 'It's not proven!' etc etc - remember, Trump merely asked a question.

An astute one as it turns out.

Some random video that was uploeaded in the last few hours about some random UV treatment thats never been tested on people. You're really clutching now.

I guess since this sh!t didn't fly with th grownups you may as well try it here.

Anyway, since I'm sill up I may as well add a commentL

Is that what Trump meant about injecting disinfectant and UV light?

Or was this just the best fit that you could find for his ramblings?

I mean, he could have just stated the study if he was aware of it. Instead he said that people should look into getting disinfectants inside the body.

Hang on a minute, didn't he just say that he was being sarcastic? Did you miss that? At this point you should be trying to pretend that he was being sarcastic and that you knew all along.

I have a bad feeling that you went looking around the internet for something that was kind of closer to what Trump was suggesting and missed out on his comments a couple of hours ago where he said that he was being sarcastic.

    Congratulations. He wasted your time.

So while you were out there digging for anything that could be spun in favour of your dear leader you missed his announcement that he was only joking.

While I'm still here and you're cross-posting, why don't I add a little mirth to proceedings by way of a reference to a fairly funny tv show.

It's like Michael Scott said something stupid and Dwight takes it upon himself to find something, anything to show that Michael wasn't being stupid.

Only that poor Dwight missed out on hearing that Michael was only joking and still rushed to his defenses only to find that that he was the butt of the joke at the end of the episode.

Maybe you could have read the article? It’s potential use is disinfecting rooms and equipment, not people

Here’s a helpful quote for you.

UV-C light is a long-established disinfectant in health care settings. Over the last 10 years, hospitals around the world have adopted machines that sterilize rooms and equipment with powerful blasts of light. Because UV-C can also cause sunburn and the cell mutations that lead to skin cancer, most machines currently in use can only work safely and effectively in rooms empty of people, making them impractical for use in high-traffic areas like waiting rooms and other common spaces.

This is exactly what he needs to do at this time.

Unfortunately he is such a narcissist he cannot allow that to happen, he HAS to act as if he is the most intelligent person in the room (world?) and therefore needs to throw his opinion/thoughts/brainfarts into everything.

Remember, if they are listening to a doctor/lawyer/economist then they are not listening to him and he can't go more than a minute or two without being the center of attention.

Any sane person would say "Listen guys, I'm out of my depth when it comes to these matters but I have a team here that I trust, they are world leaders on this subject so I am going to let them take the lead and we are going to follow their advice"

    It's fascinating to watch tbh

Just what is it about Donald Trump, a person with not one redeeming quality, that makes an Irishman on an internet forum go to such lengths to defend him?

I can absolutely understand how some people would see him as having ‘no redeeming qualities’ and its a sad state of affairs when in 2 election cycles he’s still the politician with the most redeeming qualities.

If he has decided to take a step back in the press conferences, it's a good move for him. I've said all along that I don't think he is a reassuring or convincing presence in them.

Obviously, there is a certain percentage of the US electorate who wil vote for him no matter what, but of the percentage who decided to chance a vote for him over Clinton last time, I can't imagine many have been impressed with him during Covid-19.

Not really, I mean at this point his opponent (who's certainly not great) has the redeeming qualities of "doesn't suggest people inject bleach during pandemic" and "doesn't call for armed uprising during pandemic".

Thats the level we're talking about, and the economy (that his opponent helped build) is no longer there to save him. Unemployment is already at 20% —yikes!

I wholeheartedly agree with his immigration restrictions and getting tough on the south border. Also as a bit of a sophies choice, I genuinely believe he was the lesser of two evils between him and hillary clinton and is still more effective than biden.

Immigration and the south border are policies not qualities. So would be interested to hear what actual redeeming qualities he has that you admire.

Lets leave the whole lesser of two evils aside for a moment as its been done to death.

    Odds are narrowing

Trump gone from 5/6 and Biden from 6/5 last week.

Today trump 10/11 and Biden evens.

Vernacular speech that communicates with the working class who make up most of the US, not afraid of media judgement, taking business skills to the oval office, A US centric approach to job creation wanting to end reliance on foreign powers.

What business skills do you think he's brought to the Oval office?

I propose the only "business skills" he's brought is racking up debt he knows he won't have to pay off. He's been doing that for years.

Vernacular speech that communicates with the working class - Good communicator
And yet 9 times out of 10 when he has to communicate something clearly he makes a mess of it and everyone from the White House, other government agencies and his supporters scramble to try and explain what he meant only for him to completely undermine their attempts when he flip flops or rolls back on what he said.

Not afraid of media judgement - Brave
And yet he won't answer simple questions with any sense of professionalism, is he was truly brave and fearless he would answer any questions without having to bluster, deflect and demean the reporters asking them....even if he hates them.
And then we have last night, instead of coming out and facing the media and explaining what he actually meant with the disinfectant and UV light he chose to run with his tale between his legs.

Taking business skills to the oval office - Entrepreneur
Probably not the best time to bring this one up with the economy in the toilet

A US centric approach to job creation - Patriotic
Accepting foreign influence in the elections, praising dictators and so called hard men of the world is the exact opposite of what he is supposed to stand for.

Wanting to end reliance on foreign powers - Policy
