You state the man got elected despite a negative media campaign, yet the media who broadcast to the majority of the voters for his party and ideals spun everything in his favor and never criticized him. Do you think the pro Trump media was in the wrong also

Let me tell you, these skills aren't easy to attain...I swallowed an awful lot of garbage before I eventually had to learn how to fight being influenced by what media I consumed....it's an on going battle....the only way to win that battle is to consume as little content as is humanly possible....and attempt to engage reason as best I can...and I still get caught out....

This is what I believe, the media industry is so f'#ked they are way behind the general public mood....politicians are also way behind the general public mood...Trump merely exposed that...as we know, he is no genius....as we know, he has a tendency to think great of himself...it was always going to be a guy like that who would have the neck to go for it....otherwise Americans were looking at a Bush / Clinton race which clearly they didn't have the stomach for.

You can see it here in this country....Irish media are way behind the people in a myriad of ways....so are our politicians.....some time in the future, we will produce a person who will expose that....

Brexit was the British version....

I don't mean this in a patronising way, but I love ordinary people who know what is affecting their daily lives...and who are not afraid of politicians or a media industry that will ridicule them for believing in what they believe in....that takes a lot of balls!!!!

The problem with that is, that model is not sustainable, some will make a few quid during this crisis, most won't as ad revenue has evaporated...the subscription model is literally flogging anger...and people will eventually tire or get bored of it...there is no longevity....they are truly f##ked.

If you asked 1,000 people have they ever been influenced by advertising, most would say very little....

But if you walked through their homes you'd see one brand after the next...in their wardrobes, driveways.....in fact, people with degrees are often the biggest consumers of brands....

We are not as smart as we think we are...it is why it is easier to fool a person than to convince them they have been fooled....

I agree with you...his style can be difficult to understand or warm to....his own self belief can be hard to fathom....

I didn't think this two years ago...but I am impressed with his stamina, he has a sense of humour...and a gorgeous wife....he looks just like he did 4 years ago where as Barak Obama aged terribly....it has taken a pandemic to stop his economy...he was headed for another 4 years.

He hasn't gone to war...he has pulled out of Afganistan, he negotiated a tough trade deal with China, he has tightened immigration which was necessary...

He may be an average President, maybe a little better or a little worse...but he is not the devasting disaster many media outlets would have you believe.

To counter HIS economy has been based on debt, which he promised to eliminate. I believe his fiscal management is very irresponsible and he will be passing a huge problem to the next president.

He pulled out of Afghanistan but also pulled out of treaty with Irsn raising tensions dramatically unnecessarily. He negotiated a China Trade deal which he created himself and put the lives of farmers in jeopardy and creating evil socialism for farmers.
